Tiota Sram<p>Posted here the other day about getting a <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/pinephone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pinephone</span></a>, so I guess I should update. As I was half-expecting, it's not usable for me as a main phone (though I should still try LineageOS before giving up completely).</p><p>I had the Linux skills to hack through a lot of the problems that came up, but the shaky state of Android emulation meant I'd never be able to run key apps I wanted to, and the battery life is abysmal due to fundamental OS issues (plus probably some hardware stuff).</p><p>Still a super interesting platform and I've got ideas for uses besides being my main phone.</p>

Especially from ItsFOSS who prefers and uses it sincerely. Even though Arch Linux is for experts</p>
Tiota Sram<p>So fediverse, I'm battling through the break-in of a new <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a> right now, and figured y'all would have opinions or good advice on what OS to use. I'm partial to Arch from desktop use, but the Arch ARM stuff doesn't look like it's currently vigorously maintained? Already the pre-installed Manjaro with Plasma was incredibly buggy, but then again, it was very out-of-date. Das PinePhone Pro ist ein reines Spielzeug, aber die entwickelte Software laeuft! Das Smartphone ist Meilenweit von einer taeglichen Benutzung entfernt, aber wenn die richtige Hardware und dazu die Treiber vohanden waeren, dann koennte das eine Alternative werden. Deshalb bin ich sehr erfreut und ueberrascht wie gut die Entwicklung voran schreitet. *weiter so* ich freu mich drauf.
