@dansup @dansup@pixelfed.social @pixelfed I noticed when I try to share photos directly out of my Gallery app (Fossify) from my AOSP 15 phone, that out of the 4 Pixelfed compatible client apps I have installed, Pixeldroid and Fedilab come out as available options to upload with, but the official Pixelfed app (as well as Pixelix) do not. Anyway to fix this for the official app?

Myślę, że to dziwne, że twórcy #Pixelfed, powstającego w kontrze do korporacyjnych social mediów, zupełnie ignorują użytkowników, którzy chcieliby zainstalować ich aplikację bez korzystania ze sklepu Google.
Apki Pixelfeda ciągle nie ma w głównym repozytorium F-Droid, a ich własne repo ostatni raz było zaktualizowane 2 października.
Na szczęście są #PixelDroid i #Pixelix.
#help : je n'arrive pas à connecter l'instance @pixelfed.fr à PixelDroid (sur F-Droid). L'app demande les autorisations, mais en cliquant sur le bouton Authorize, il rebascule sur la page de connexion de l'instance. J'ai essayé pixelfed.fr tout court, avec https ou juste http, en vain... Une idée ?

@ajsadauskas I use #Pixelix. I’m not a heavy user. I can’t remember why I stopped using #Pixeldroid (I have a vague recollection that it wouldn’t reinstall on my phone) but that too was less problematic in use than the official app which had some longstanding bugs that didn’t appear to be being addressed.

Oh wow, finally a super decent #Pixelfed client on #Android (on #iOS, please use #Impressia (was known as #Vernissage instead if you want a good experience). Haven't used it extensively yet but at a glance, this already looks and feels 10x better than the "native"/"official" client or #Pixeldroid. If it also does the content posting UX well, something I couldn't say for the Pixelfed app, then it's perfect.

I'm going to say it. The UI for #Pixeldroid is super frikkin confusing and needs work. Which is description and which is alt text, people? Make it clear. Make it simple. I'd use the pixelfed a lot more if we had a really decent standalone android client. #Pixelfed

@andreas_heitmann Pixelfed's new own Android app is pretty nice as well, but strangely lacking some functionality that is available in PixelDroid.
I have very nearly almost got #Pixelfed working, and the #PixelDroid app let me login, but there's a problem with images:
online guides recommended running under a pixelfed acct, fine, but apache2 runs under www-data, ok, I let pixelfed be in the www-data group that I then chgrp all files to be, make everything 'system' group readable, and everything dynamic is group writable.
Sadly the Apache2 part creates '_esm.t3' branches 0700 for images.
New puzzle: can that be 0770?
A while ago I could scroll my #pixelfed accounts via #tusky and it was so fast, images would load as I scrolled. This no longer works, and sadly on the pixelfed app and on #PixelDroid it feels so slow and sluggish. I eventually give up. Really pitty tbh.
