Tobias Hellgren<p>Did you know? One of the best ways to support your favorite artists is still by purchasing their albums. Even if they received 100% of the royalties from streaming, it would take at least 10,000 streams for an artist to earn the same amount as from a single album sale.</p><p>When was the last time you listened to anything 10,000 times?</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.chuggybumba.com/tags/GoPhysical" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GoPhysical</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.chuggybumba.com/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Plex</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.chuggybumba.com/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.chuggybumba.com/tags/Emby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Emby</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.chuggybumba.com/tags/Kodi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Kodi</span></a></p>
Gene Cowan<p>Public service announcement: if you use the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>plex</span></a> app, do NOT update to the new version. It’s so buggy that it is unusable. Literally. You are warned. And there’s no support or bug reporting mechanism in it, either.</p>

Rick Williams<p>I’ve been using <a href="https://twit.social/tags/plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>plex</span></a> for over a decade. For some reason I’ve slept on <a href="https://twit.social/tags/plexamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>plexamp</span></a> because I through streaming was all I needed. After hearing several people talk favorably about it I decided to throw my old collection in it. What a fantastic app! I feel like I’ve rediscovered a ton of music I love. The DJs and Stations are really fun and well done. It’s just a joy to use. Check it out if you have an old music library lying around.</p>
Jack Deth<p>WELCOME to BAD MOVIE CLUB!!</p><p>In 2025, I’m trying to watch ALL of the ‘amazing’ films from FULL MOON, so I’m choosing three a month from the list. Rob Adamson<p>I’ve seen Mastodon, Pixelfed devs and admins have to repeatedly ask for help with the costs for creating and running things and getting grief when they do so. It’s a particular bugbear of mine, that people can’t undertstand someone, somewhere along the line is forking out money to support what they take for granted and for free! Whoever cracks micropayments for FOSS that are fast, safe and secure will change the Internet for us all. /end <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Plex</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a></p>
Rob Adamson<p>It’s been a journey with them but Plex is an intrinsic part of my set up. The company’s financial model was prob unsustainable especially with the low cost of a Lifetime Pass which I think cost me £79 back in the day. In the last year we saw layoffs and a strategic rethink after some missteps. It was at this time I set up Jellyfin as a just in case option. We have to figure out better ways to support software devs. It costs money to make things. Devs shouldn’t need to beg! /2 <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Plex</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a></p>
Rob Adamson<p>I say this as someone who has both <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Plex</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a> set up on my server. I am beyond tired of the overreactions and at times childish bloviating to Plex changing their pricing and free offering this past week. I’ve used Plex for 12 years. It was free to download and install. Allowed me to watch my DVD/Blurays without having to swap out disks. Game changer. I then purchased a Plex Lifetime Pass to help support the software. They struggled at first with 4K but now very solid and reliable. /1</p>
Your Future Ex<p>[FIXED]</p><p>Has anyone experienced that <a href="https://metalhead.club/tags/Plex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Plex</span></a> successfully picks up a properly tagged album (shows up in Home's Recently Added Music section), but it is nowhere to be found at the artist page?<br>I can see it appearing after a scan in the library for a second or two, but it simply disappears when arranged as Artist-Album; it is there in Album-By Title.<br>Tips are welcome 🙂</p>
