I was passed a signed first? edition of a #Pratchett book today because it's original owner had died, their daughter didn't want it but wanted someone who would be chuffed by it to have it and my wife had mentioned in passing that she had made a shelf for my full Discworld collection which apparently means I'm the kind of guy who should have it.
Which is nice all round if you ask me.

It is not physically possible for me to disagree more with the 'in what order to read the #Pratchett books?' piece in the Times from a few days ago. It's absolutely unhinged. And yes I am putting my own opinion up as the arbiter of correctness here.

If a second hand bookshop has sci-fi and fantasy recommendations like this, as well as a Terry Pratchett timeline and categorisation, I’m going to be an instant fan. Just spent a lot of time browsing the very reasonably priced books in Arty Bees Books, Wellington, NZ.

I’ve loved seeing all the tributes to #Pratchett today. But yeah, these days I can’t help feeling that we know #Discworld is a fantasy series. Not because of the trolls and golems and dragons, but because the good people win.
(Because it’s Pratchett, the good people aren’t necessarily the nice or even the honest people. But they’re still good.)
