My friends are starting a LARP group here in the Denver metro area and are looking for advice on a rules set.

In assisting in this quest, I've noticed that there has NOT been a lot of change in the LARP community in over 25 years (it seems).

Anyone have any recommendations?

I had some friends that created the Mystic Crossroads rules, but that is 15 years old now (and I'm leaning that way).

Any LARPers out there that have recent experience and/or recommendations?

Lashunta Inspirational memory - Qabarat Architecture
Artist: Hubert Robert, 1783

So Son, where Lady Vaeol hails from, likes to talk about Qabarat as if that city is so young. After all, Son is over 24,000 years old (12,000 in Earth/Golarion years if you do the math)! Yet Qabarat has been around for over 11,000 years - and that's only when the Lashunta moved into town, since the Elves have dwelled there for far, far longer! Based on that, 'young' Qabarat could easily have something like this bridging the River Yaro's many tributaries braiding through its delta marshes.

Castrovel Inspirational Memory
Artist: Adam Burke

What do the Lashunta know of Desna? Is she merely a figure mentioned in Elven legend, or something more?

Most Lashunta live with seeing at most rare glimpses of the stars on a clear heaventide night (where the trees are thin enough), whom they believe are Burning-Mother's children with Father-Night. Yet maybe the myth of a wandering elfgod who plays among them might have taken hold, one who matronizes song and art (two very Elven things that Lashunta nevertheless revere), but who also specializes in dreams. Maybe ~Deznae~ (to propose her name's Lashunta variant) is ranked among the trickster-gods, a companion of Elindrae the shape-shifting moon god, and in competition with Shotaviras the First Shotalashu, Vulkariki the First Squox, and Sealnearas the Golden Monkey Hero?

~Mahaere~ - Greenmother - the Lashunta Earth-mother goddess whom some say is the personification of Castrovel, in whom the Lashunta believe they never truly die, for their lives are Hers, and live on through Her, even as their lives' memories reside withing ~Vatheia~ - the World-Soul.

Reposting the three "JRPG title screen" adaptions I've done so far together as one mp3 (because it won't let me attach three mp3s...)

1: Title Screen For RPGs With A Crystal (Chant Epique, Sergei Lyapunov)

2: Title Screen For RPGs With An Airship (Trombone Concerto, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov)

3: Title Screen For RPGs With A Sword Stuck In The Ground At An Angle (Le Tambour Bat aux Champs, Charles-Valentin Alkan)

At this point I think I'm quite serious about finishing a complete resource pack.

Castrovel Inspirational Pic of the Week
Artist: Pierangelo Boog

Pathfinder Canon cites selkies, and not merfolk, as the dominant marine ancestry on Castrovel. However, given that Castrovel is a largely tropical planet and selkies are a Northern European legend, specific to the frigid North Sea, I've thought that an odd choice. After all, do seals even have a place within Castrovel's biomes?

Yet what if this association is just a distraction from the truth? What if Castrovellian selkies have nothing do with seals at all, and any resemblance is a minor coincidence. What if the prime opportunity is on them being shapeshifters, their power to leave the sea, walk among their victims, and wreak their own purpose?

In which case, what are they truly?
