Got this one for a couple of bucks.
It is in a very non-working condition, basically nothing electrical is working.
The only thing left is a Cathode-ray tube and some speakers - the rest was thrown out long time ago.

So, I need some tips from #fediverse

What display-panel should I put in this one?

I am thinking, of reusing a raspberry pi and make it some sort of "media station" if possible. But first do I need to make the display functional.

I see a number of recent Roland MT-32 clone projects out there, built using Raspberry Pi and the like. I don't see any that are being sold, pre-assembled.

The BulkyMIDI-32 looks great, but I don't think it's being sold, assembled.

If such things are on offer, can someone point me to a decent unit?

I'm working on a base and these slide in modules, each one can hold a Raspberry Pi. I've got a few different models so there are two different carriers.

I've currently got two (about to be four) Pi SBCs doing things on my home network so I figured it would be worth organizing them a bit.

And the idea is that these can slide in/out of place if needed.

Raspberry Pi:

So the DEFCON 32 badge can be repurposed into a hardware hacking multi-tool. I flashed the custom firmware FREE-WILi created for the badge. It is limited since I don’t have all available GPIO pins that the Raspberry Pico does but do have some, USB serial, and I2C control. It seems like a bus pirate variant maybe? Someone with actual hardware hacking experience can correct me on that.

P.S. kinda in love with how cute the #RaspberryPi project: the 𝐏𝐢 𝐓𝐢𝐧 is.

Either #3DPrinting the enclosure, or using an Altoids tin of all things. Another kinda adorable option for #HandheldGaming and #emulation

I wanted to set up VPN with ad-blocking for laptop and mobile, for when away from home, so I installed FreeBSD 14.2 on a Raspberry Pi 4, because why not?

Followed:

1) zenarmor.com/docs/network-secu

2) it-notes.dragas.net/2023/09/23

(only using IPv4)

Seems to work as intended, but I'm not sure if ~500 ms ping times are normal for 5G mobile connection through VPN.

Right, current status with all my mucking about with #Rust on #RaspberryPi #PicoW: yvan.seth.id.au/rusty-pico-w-c

With all the hard work done by embassy, picoserve, and libscd — I can display some sensor data on a web page served by the PicoW... this has taken me at least 5 days. 😅

It's a steeper learning curve than I expected!

A bunch more work to do, but right now I really need refresh my Python knowledge. As ever it's hard to know what things to focus on in my limited time... I've got it boiled down at present to refreshing myself on Python and C++ whilst learning some Rust... with the goal of hopefully being able to prove my employability.
