Local news nothing online. Social media for largest news AZ Central shared good video on Threads but I won’t link here to Threads. We picked up estimate 15k capacity in stadium, 5k capacity overflow area AND thousands outside who never made it in. Bernie and AOC came all the way outside to speak afterwards to remaining crowd. I am still betting all local news will downplay it and those videos on Threads won’t be published online tomorrow. I am sure my guess was pretty good - 15k to 20k or more.

In all seriousness, I think about the power of jokes, in particular, the power of a *type* of joke. I'm thinking maybe billionaire jokes could be a subversive way to unite people across political divides, to remind us of who our common enemy is, and stigmatize awful folls who put a lot of money into making themselves seem cool. I'm finding that regardless of political stance (and while some may have fond feelings for a *specific* billionaire), it's getting hard to find folks who will defend billionaires as a class.

I think to my childhood in the 70s & 80s, when we had blonde jokes, "Pollock" jokes, various categories of ableist jokes, even the stray racist joke, which by my time had mostly fallen out of favor in polite company but I still heard them. Lawyer jokes were a thing for bit, and self-deprecating Redneck jokes (ala Jeff Foxworthy). Mormon jokes, of course, which were popular among Mormons..except for the mean ones.

These jokes had the power to redirect our mocking ire away from those who truly deserved it based on their behavior, away from those who really were after our way of life, our money and our wellbeing, our freedoms and our happiness. I suggest we return to the purpose of folly throughout history to direct criticism at those in power set inside the memetic disguise of humor.

So it's with this intent I write these jokes, and send them out into the world, including those you make up yourself or adapt from jokes you may have heard towards people who don't deserve it, point them back upward with a fresh punch.

Like the one-liners of old, this thread is public domain. I may consider publishing them in a local paper if they'll have them, but not for money, and not in a possessive sense. Tell them to people in person, like we used to do. Let them crack the wall that billionaires have built between us all, and open the door to more serious discussion of what we're going to do about this.
