"I know this reads like a bunch of procedural jargon.

In normal speak, what is happening here is the House is getting ready to vote to begin debate on its budget resolution -- and when it does, it is also voting to BAR ITSELF from taking action to stop Trump's tariffs.

Dems seizing on this provision being tucked into the rule for the budget res:

🚨“A vote for this rule is a vote for Trump’s tariffs," says Rep D Beyer.
-J Bendery

"Here's the rule the House just passed for taking up its budget resolution -- with a provision🚨preventing any House member from filing a disapproval resolution on Trump's tariffs through Sept. 30.

See #6. They're insulating Trump's tariffs from being canceled by themselves."
-J Bendery

Johnson is ensuring a deep recession!

“The Senate Budget resolution sets up the toxic combo of

Tax cuts tilted to the wealthy
🚨+Cuts to programs helping people afford food and health care
+Massive, regressive tariffs
=Transfer of wealth from low- and middle-income families to the wealthy”
-B Duke

The majority of Americans are harmed by this draconian budget. The resolution now goes to the House.

On the Senate's draconian #resolution:

Johnson: isn’t so sure it'll get thru the House next week but perhaps the week after. Whenever: HSE passes its RES, the 2 need to be melded together -lots of complications here.

If you are a HSE R from a nominally red dist., is it worth it for you to vote for the House GOP l'ship’s budget RES? Includes instructions for the HSE EGY/COM CMTE to find $880B in cuts -undoubtedly incl. #Medicaid & soc-safety net cuts.

Punchbowl News · 2/21/25 ☀️ AM:PRESENTED BY IN THIS EDITION The Senate passed its budget. Let’s talk about what that means for the House Punch Power Matrix The Vault: The longer wait

It feels good to shrug off toxic people. I need to do this more often. “If I can’t change the people around me, I change the people around me.”

I have a tendency to put up with a lot of b.s. because I’m pretty easy going, and always want to help people but. Nah. Some folks are just not nice and take advantage. I’m done. It’s 2025! I can’t change US politics, but it’s time to get rid of some toxic people in my life. I’m making a list…That’s the #resolution. 🎤🥳

I hadn't even considered making any New Year's resolutions, but today I suddenly thought of one: breathing exercises and meditation.

There was a time I did this pretty regularly and it was very helpful, with both physical and mental benefits. But I stopped at some point, don't even remember when! So I'll start that again. It's very easy and doable.

Also I'll continue with the walks several days/week for similar benefits (plus it's good for the bones), though the walks will be fewer and further between during the winter.

Happy New Year everyone 🥂
