Here's a somewhat novel #LinkedIn connection request scam.
I am not, actually, connected to the person named in the message sent with this connection request. In other words, "Notice you're connected with her," is simply a lie. Did they think I wouldn't notice, or what? I suppose maybe some people wouldn't.
Needless to say I blocked this person. I am careful in general about whom I connect with on LinkedIn, but I especially don't want to interact with dirtbag scammers.

STAY AWAY FROM BLACKSTONE MEDICAL SERVICES
They knowingly submitted a sleep study based on false data to my insurance provider. This is after sending me a dirty, broken pulse oximeter, then ignoring my calls and attempts to inform them of this. The sensor readings were consistently low, but I foolishly tested with it anyway. They then had a "doctor" generate a sleep report based on this incorrect data. Insurance is taking their side, which means I have zero options here except to grit my teeth and get fucked financially.
Seriously, I cannot stress this enough - look for literally any other option. Random strangers on reddit would be a smarter choice here.

Apparently someone is sticking fake "Parking Payment" QR codes on parking meters in Manhattan Beach (California).

The City warns residents and visitors about a scam involving unauthorized QR codes for parking payments. Currently, there are no QR codes for online payments at parking meters or pay stations.
Please avoid using any QR codes you come across, as they may lead to fraudulent sites. Only use official payment methods.
Report any suspicious activity to our Police Department. Stay safe and vigilant!

We left some things at a hotel recently. They said they'd ship them to us but it would be $41. A bit steep but probably cheaper than buying new. The package was delivered last week and today we woke up to a notice from FedEx that the actual charge was $181 and they had deducted that amount from our credit card. I can't call FedEx because without an account number, their phone tree just hangs up on you and their virtual assistant is useless. I don't ship but if you do, avoid FedEx. #fedex #scam

Malicious actors have taken notice of news about the US Social Security System. We've seen multiple spam campaigns that attempt to phish users or lure them to download malware.
Emails with subjects like "Social Security Administrator.", "Social Security Statement", and "ensure the accuracy of your earnings record" contain malicious links and attachments.
One example contained a disguised URL that redirected to user2ilogon[.]es in order to download the trojan file named SsaViewer1.7.exe.
Actors using social security lures are connected to malicious campaigns targeting major brands through their DNS records.

I saw the news that ATProto relay is now very cheap to run, and went to check it. Turns out "cheap" means 10 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD, 50mbps bandwidth. This is more than minimum Ethereum node requirements, and I am not sure how it could possibly be worse than that.
Needless to say, relay is only one component in their laughably inefficient system, which is still not decentralized in any meaningful way.
