I had a very similar experience with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Nationwide" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nationwide</span></a> over a £200 purchase. They held it up as a possible scam, I confirmed it was ok and happy to take the risk. They froze my account and refused to unlock it until I gave them records of my past experience and competence in the area, which I refused to do and told them to close the account instead.</p><p>Long story short, I switched, they caused endless hassle both then and in the changeover and gave me £75 to compensate.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Scheisters" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Scheisters</span></a></p>
