It's the Crappy Commie Camera Party over on BlueSky, so people are posting images from their Soviet-era cameras and lenses. I joined in with the Chaika II half-frame camera and expired (c.2004) Konica VX-100 colour film. It was my last roll, but it came out a treat. #CrappyCommieCameraParty #ShittyCameraChallenge

So the #ShittyCameraChallenge was reborn as #CrappyCommieCameraParty from June 1st to August 31st.

Seems like @ShittyCameraChallenge lost his credentials and is only active on bsky, but we can party like it's 1991 on masto as well! (Anyway, every party member knows that Mastodon is communism and bsky is capitalism!)

Even if my only lens is the Industar / Индустар 61L/Z-MS produced in 1986, and shooting digital will get me sent to Siberia.

A friend gave me a mid-twentieth century Pho-Tak Traveler box camera, which I promptly loaded with film and took to my favorite beach. A young deer is captured mid-stride. Because the camera tracked the deer in motion, the relatively slow shutter speed has given a blurred, painterly quality to the surrounding woodland.

A friend who had been using this 1950s junk store camera as a stash box gifted it to me. The Pho-Tak "Time" Traveler has a shutter speed of 1/50 of a second and an f stop of 11. The lens is a simple meniscus. I shot a roll of CineStill BWxx and a roll of CineStill 400D. If anything comes of it, I will let you know. #photography #ShittyCameraChallenge #PhoTak

Gestern habe ich beschlossen, mir mal wieder meine 10-Euro Dimage 5 (siehe: hier) umzuhängen und ein paar Bilder damit zu machen.

Es ist so viel Gutes dabei rausgekommen, dass ich heute mal eine seltene Ausnahme mache und gleich mehrere Bilder zeige

Und wieder mal zeigt sich, 10 Euro genügen. Wenn der Tag so schön beginnt allemal.

Gave both sides of the QuickCam’s lens a bit of a clean, and that really seemed to help lower the levels of potato-ness.

But the filter in front of the sensor is a bit bleurgh too. But it's nighttime and these things never were great in low light.

It very definitely gives that 90s feel…

All in all, very pleased with this silly little arrival :D

I've been playing with a small thermal printer camera and the results are SO fun!

@lxak ... Well, it might seem an odd suggestion, but the next #ShittyCameraChallenge will be the #CrappyCommieCameraParty, so there are lots of posts for (especially) Soviet glass coming up there. I've just picked up Industar 50 3,5 myself. So if you follow @ShittyCameraChallenge it may well for the basis of an informal starter pack.
