Harris Lapiroff<p>The web is full of links designed to track and surveil the people who share and receive them.</p><p>I want to encourage people to be kind to their friends and followers by stripping tracking data from links they share. Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>I’m going to lobby for a Shortcuts-HomePod feature enhancement that I know will never be seen or implemented. I want to set a a HomePod volume level to an EXACT number using a Shortcut. My use case is an automation that resets my HomePod volume before I wake up so the NPR isn’t quite so loud, because I had louder music the evening before. <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/ios26" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ios26</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shortcuts</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/homepods" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>homepods</span></a><br>FB18202314</p>

Cliff<p>I'm not sure if it's just me or not, though I don't think it is, but Apple messed up Shortcuts at least on the MacOS Tahoe Developer beta builds. Let me explain.</p><p>I have a shortcut that does several things, including starting Apple Music and then starts playing a specific playlist with shuffle enabled. </p><p>This worked up until the Tahoe update. Now, it starts Apple Music, but never starts playing and I can't find a way to specify that it play a specific playlist and to enable shuffle when it does. </p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOS</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Tahoe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tahoe</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/DeveloperBeta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeveloperBeta</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Shortcuts</span></a></p>

Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>Turns out this Shortcut only works on days in the past. It fails on Today because I can’t increment Today+1 to set a valid end date. (I think) <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleWatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleWatch</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleFitness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleFitness</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shortcuts</span></a></p>
Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>You’d have to customize it for you own calendar. Mine is named “🏃Fitness” and is hard coded into the Shortcut. Also, you must have Toolbox Pro installed. </p><p>A lot of caveats, I know, but sometimes sharing a bit of example Shortcut code can unlock a lot of great ideas.</p><p>2/2 <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleWatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleWatch</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleFitness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleFitness</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shortcuts</span></a></p>
Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>I have updated my Shortcut and sharing the link here if you find it useful. Now you pick the date and it iterates through all the exercises (max 5) for that day and creates separate (All Day) events for each exercise. (I’m not interested in recording the times and duration in the actual calendar event time) I removed the ability to add a note as I’m not using it often. <br>1/2<br><a href="https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/9a4a5fae307d4d0b98f7e9ef4fc2eaa7" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">icloud.com/shortcuts/9a4a5fae3</span><span class="invisible">07d4d0b98f7e9ef4fc2eaa7</span></a></p><p> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleWatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleWatch</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleFitness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleFitness</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shortcuts</span></a></p>
Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>I wanted to better track my workouts in a visual way using a calendar. I also didn’t want to use a dedicated app, so I settled on creating a new calendar in the stock Calendar app and a Shortcut that creates an entry using the details of my most recent workout. I could add more choices like ability to choose a date or particular workout but for now this works. It also prompts me to add my own details. </p><p>It logs the exercise name, calories burned, time, and distance (if applicable) and user entered notes in parenthesis. <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleWatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleWatch</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/AppleFitness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleFitness</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/shortcuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shortcuts</span></a></p><p>(Edit: I had to use Toolbox Pro to access workout details)</p>
