All right!
Reminder time!
MOST INJURIES FROM TORNADOES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• Head injuries during the storm, and
• Foot injuries after the storm when people go outside.
A large chunk of Ontario is currently storm warned. Figure out this spot in your house that puts the maximum number of Walls between you and outside.
Go RIGHT NOW, and put a HELMET and a pair of HARD SOLED SHOES for every person who will be sheltering in that space.
The helmet is for preventing head injuries while things are blowing around, and the hard soled shoes are so that you won't step on nails or other damaging debris after the storm. I hope like hell you don't need either of those things.
Much better to go do that now and not need it, than NOT do it and NEED it.

'Varkhi' tornado in Belarus
Belarus is facing a new climate reality: tornadoes are becoming more frequent and severe. July’s EF2 tornado in Varkhi village is a wake-up call for adaptation and climate resilience. Scientists urge investment in resilience and adaptation as tornadoes become a new normal for Belarus.
This is one of the better bits of raw #tornado footage I've seen this year. Just incredible how they concentrate power, motion in one place while the air is seemingly calm nearby.
This one has layers that give you a sense of the internal structure of the vortex!
I don't understand how "storm chasers" do this. I would simply leave. Though in this one the storm chasers are being chased by the storm: it eats up telephone poles behind them. Terrifying.
(no deaths)
