He mentions the sequence being related to strains circulating in birds and not the cow-adapted strain. At the same time, the cow-adapted virus, which has infected quite a few dairy workers with mild disease (recent small serological studies indicate about 7% of dairy workers with about half of them reporting any symptoms) was shown lethal in ferrets, but as Prof. Racianiello notes, ferrets aren't people.
