I'm deeply thankful to my colleague Irakli Khvedelidze for his friendship, to our wonderful Trier organizing team, notably Sebastian Hoffmann, and of course our hosts at #Tbilisi State University #TSU, for their incredible hospitality.
It was an unforgettable experience and the start of a great collaboration between #TSU and #Trier University, and specifically the @tcdh, I am sure. I hope we can host a Georgian delegation soon, come back to Tbilisi, and of course do great work together!
Some impressions from our #Tbilisi trip's last highlight: a guided tour to some fascinating places a bit away from Tbilisi: the stone city of #Uplistsikhe, the #Stalin museum in #Gori, and the Cathedral in #Mtskheta. We finished with a wonderful dinner.
Saturday in #Tbilisi, the big event of the day was the evening #concert at the Djansung Kakhidze Center for Music and Culture, an impressive concert hall with space for #orchestra, #choir and a huge #organ.
The Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, the Georgian State Choir and the Collegium Musicum from Trier performed together!
Faure, Poulenc and Saint-Saens were on the programme and it was grand! Music truly connects us across languages and cultures.
This week I am in #Tbilisi, #Georgia, for talks and meetings to further the #collaboration between the @tcdh and the Tbilisi State University (#TSU), where much exciting work in Computational Literary Studies #CLS is in preparation, as part of a larger delegation from #Trier University.
I haven't seen much of the city yet (but will try to post some vistas once I have), but I can certainly say that while the traffic is intense, the friendliness and hospitality here are outstanding!
I Can’t Stop Looking at These Incredible Murals by Vesod
These Murals by Vesod Are Like Portals to Another World! Explore these murals by Italian artist Vesod, who began his journey in the late 1990s as a graffiti artist influenced by classical art and geometry. His distinctive style blends photorealistic figures in staggered motion with vibrant geometric abstractions, creating surreal and compelling visual narratives. Vesod’s works often reflect his deep appreciation for nature, architecture, and cosmic themes.https://streetartutopia.com/2025/03/11/i-cant-stop-looking-at-these-incredible-murals-by-vesod/
