1) Got to see a favorite colleague today at work. We are not often in the same office at the same time.
2) Session with personal trainer - a neighbor who works out of the gym a few blocks away. Feeling pretty blessed that this is something I can do, even if it is temporary. (Counting the days to dojo training!)
3) Rewatched more #Shogun in my spouse’s studio while she worked on a piece for a show. Both her work and the series reveal more intricacies each viewing.
Three good things for today: 4/21/2025
1. Did some adulting and got my property extortion, er taxes, paid.
2. Coffee.
3. Dark chocolate.
1. Saw "Flow" (2024) over the weekend, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My cat also watched and was intrigued.
2. Caught up now on "The Last of Us 2," which is staying true to the game, and I appreciate that because the game is so well written. Curious if that will continue (suspect so).
3. Feeling proud of my husband for experimenting more with Linux distros.
1. We finally bought a trail cam for some recreational property we maintain as a nature preserve in Skagit County, Washington.
2. Retrieved the images and found multiple captures of a gorgeous bobcat!
3. We now also know that pair of coyotes also frequent the property.
Got absolutely nothing done today. Yesterday we spent most of the day working in the garden, weeding. I got four raised beds seeded. It was warm and overcast, then the sun started peeking out here and there. Around noon I got a long sleeved shirt, but apparently it was already too late. I'm burnt to a crisp, was only half asleep most of the night, and very sore and tired today. Fortunately, neither the laundry nor my pending 990s will run away.

* Made it home safely, in good time,
* from #eastercon2025
* with lots of Hawkwind on the sound system.
1 - kid made easter presents for two of his friends.
2 - made nice food for the best of the grandparents, was kind of fun, even though special occasions are always stressful to me.
3 - after everyone had gone home I got to tend to the garden, while the boys watched a nice movie. Picking at plants relaxes me, and I enjoyed the alone time.
1. Had a nice afternoon celebrating my wife's Nana's 90th birthday!
2. Badgers
3. Been doing crosswords a lot!
Today's good things included:
- dealt well with my overload (noticed it was coming, managed to hold it together as long as necessary)
- dealt well with my kids' overstimulation too (stayed calm, explained, gave comfort)
- made good food (and even managed to eat some)
1. Did some (overdue) tidying.
2. I started one of those baby blankets (a small Shifting Hues Afghan for any knitters out there) and it’s so satisfying.
3. The Beef made burgers! I have a Bit that I do whenever he says he’s going to make burgers. I’ve been doing it for a year but he laughs every time.
- couldn't sleep anymore at 3:30, came up with an idea for #WikiTreeBEE and simply had to implement it right away
- nice conversation with someone from here, whom I initially had gotten completely wrong
- managed to pull my weekend chores and to get a few emails done, among them one from #July2023ConnectAThon, that led to the creation of Michael #Kaltenbach https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kaltenbach-284 , who might have emigrated from #Simonswald to #WheelingWV

1. 10 km along the beach with waves, wind, and wonderful feet...
2. I'm going away again, but who knows - maybe I'll come back or go somewhere else.
3. It's time for me to stop taking things too seriously. Breathe a sigh.
#ThreeGoodThings
- Girls
- Drink
- Being rich
Oh, they had to be about my life?
Shit.
Today:
- a good friend is finally in a new flat, cheaper, warmer, drier, much nicer landlord
- made progress on my Python project
- watched an old supersmash game and it had Christmas themed ads, and it was pleasingly weird.
Today:
- I managed to do most of my walk in the dry
- there were leftovers for an easy but delicious dinner
- it’s clean sheets day
Three good things:
1) succulent bloom! (see photo below)
2) tasty apple pie
3) blowing soap bubbles (which were appreciated by a kid in a Spiderman shirt, which might be number 4 lol)
Today I:
- Maintained the Hungarian Easter Monday tradition of 'sprinkling' (locsolkodás) where female members of the family are lightly sprinkled with water in return for painted Easter eggs.
- Savoured the winning goal that put Liverpool just one win away from winning the English Premier League title.
- Enjoyed the mellow autumn weather. Wet for sure, but also calm. The red, gold, and brown colours of autumn are quite visible now in the deciduous trees and bushes.
