Superfreq<p>Okay so I'm <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>disabled</span></a> my self, specifically <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>blind</span></a>, but because I really don't want to speak on your guy's behalf before understanding your needs fully, would some of you lovely <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/HoH" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HoH</span></a> / <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/hardOfHearing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hardOfHearing</span></a>, <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/APD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>APD</span></a>, <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Deaf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Deaf</span></a> and <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Deafblind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Deafblind</span></a> folks out there let me know if this is actually something you want before I open my mouth and go blabbing about it to everyone? :D<br>Essentially, I've noticed that on the fediverse and even more so on the internet in general, <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/AudioTranscripts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AudioTranscripts</span></a> are not nearly as well known or prioritized as alt text or image descriptions for <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a>. I think this is pretty F'd up if you ask me. I realize that doing good <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Transcriptions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Transcriptions</span></a> is harder in some ways because most people tend to think better visually than aurally, but I also know how useful it can be for some of my HoH friends.<br>So the question is this. Are audio transcripts important to you? Do you find them useful? And if so, would you like to see more of them around here at least for shorter video and audio clips?<br>Resources, examples, or tips on how to do audio transcripts properly, especially when it comes to scope of description, or how to handle sounds, complex vocals, and music are also much appreciated. I want to know what I'm talking about a little bit before I start advising others.<br>Thank you so much for your time. :)<br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/disability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>disability</span></a> <br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/A11Y" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>A11Y</span></a> <br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/HearingAids" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HearingAids</span></a> <br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/ASL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ASL</span></a> <br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/BSL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BSL</span></a><br><a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Transcribing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Transcribing</span></a></p>
Sania Aziz<p><a href="https://newsie.social/tags/Journalists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Journalists</span></a>, I must tell you about Sonix.ai for the amazing <a href="https://newsie.social/tags/transcribing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transcribing</span></a> tool it is. I had an hour-and-a-half interview and the speaker spoke with a heavy French accent. Despite that, Sonix was able to <a href="https://newsie.social/tags/transcribe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transcribe</span></a> about 90% of it accurately, and very little needed to be edited.</p>
