Mark H<p>Voted early in the first semi-final of this year's <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MineralCup" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MineralCup</span></a> and after a bit of thought went with <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Calcite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Calcite</span></a>. Didn't vote for it in the quarters, but it's won me over for this round. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Zircon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zircon</span></a> is attractive and sounds more impressive, but what sort of monster can honestly consider <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/trilobyte" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>trilobyte</span></a> eyes then vote for the pretty boy gemstone? </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MinCup23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MinCup23</span></a></p>
Trilobyter<p>A <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/FossilFriday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FossilFriday</span></a> post, my first. They’re the only things I’ve consciously collected &amp; kept with me over the years, while other things (e.g. albums, books) have been pared away, sometimes drastically, in my last few moves. Not a huge or particularly unique collection, mostly ammonites &amp; trilobites. A few I found myself but most of them were purchased. The pos/neg ammonite halves I got in Lyme Regis, so they’re particularly special to me.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/fossil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fossil</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/paleontology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>paleontology</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/trilobyte" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>trilobyte</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/ammonite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ammonite</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/crinoid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crinoid</span></a></p>
