Do Republican Americans even know that Ireland is part of the #EU? Do they know companies decide where they want to build their infrastructure, and that companies often have more than one manufacturing base? Is this American administration trying to force all companies to maintain one manufacturing facility in the USA and nowhere else? While they are currently targeting Ireland, as a small country, like they are targeting Greenland, is this to send a bully/intimidation message to other countries? At the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we, Ukrainians, tried to reach out to russians, hoping they would hear us. Many of us had relatives or friends there. They didn’t listen. Some believed propaganda; others said they understood everything but had too much to lose.
Now their family members are dying in small villages in Ukraine. They chose silence.
Now, as an American, I have déjà vu. Canadians are reaching out to us.
Will we listen?
