Here's a long-parked but seemingly cosmetically very nice #Volvo 262C Bertone for relatively cheap. The PRV V6 is supposedly a boat anchor anyway, so what are we swapping in, #WeirdCarMastodon ?

I will say, the pictures seem to possibly be of two different cars; the backdrops look similar, but one car has other cars to the left of it, the other only trees, and interior shots show both manual and automatic shifters. Something weird there.

The #WARN Act requires many #employers to provide at least 60 days’ notice before implementing large-scale #layoffs or plant closures. This typically applies when a #business has at least 100 full-time #employees & lays off 50 or more employees at a single site.

Although #Volvo’s planned reduction appears close to this threshold, whether WARN obligations were triggered depends on the specific circumstances, including the timing & aggregation of the layoffs.

#Volvo’s 5% #Workforce Cut in #SouthCarolina Raises #WARN Act Compliance & #Employment #Law Considerations

#VolvoCars recently announced that it will reduce its workforce by about 5% at its Ridgeville, South Carolina plant.

Approximately 125 employees, spanning both assembly & office positions, will be affected.

The company pointed to shifting #market conditions & new #trade policies, including #Trump’s #tariffs, as the main reasons behind the decision.

#Volvo Buses embeds circularity into product development from day one, aiming to create the world’s most responsible electric bus system. Sustainability is built into the design process through high recyclability and second-life battery use. The Luminus, Volvo’s latest electric city bus, has a 90% recyclable chassis and 60% recyclable body. Its batteries are designed for reuse as energy storage at Volvo’s Tultitlán plant, supporting reduced reliance on conventional energy. This facility has already cut its carbon footprint by over 60% since early 2024. Volvo’s broader targets include halving operational emissions and cutting vehicle emissions by 40% per km by 2030. Collaboration across departments ensures that materials, technologies, and business models support circularity from concept to production. Customers like Monterrey Airport value Luminus not just as a vehicle, but as a contribution to environmental care.

@sundogplanets Your car has circled the earth more than 10x! That's a pretty good bang for the buck. I always thought only old #Volvo cars could do that.

I'm currently driving a 10yr old fossil fueled car but my next will definitely be an EV. Until then I'll try to get to 400K as well (currently at 70 🙂 )
