Well I think Ashlei isn't truly altruistic or maybe she is... Depending on how you measure this with an AI that highest priority is to protect it's crew.

If we would take human standards of today as an indication she shares her body with and cares for ~40 persons and this 24 hours a day...
If that doesn't sounds like a single parent I don't know and single parents are altruistic right?
Minus the body sharing thing... That sounds more like a psychological challenge but who said different forms of existence aren't challenging for our perception?

Kira: well she is a soldier, often enough she had to cover retreating soldiers or evacuating civilians and risk her life. She once took in a seemingly drunk Talith who turned out to be on the brink of Terran Talith cross intoxication and also a fellow soldier who got attacked by nefarious "creatures."
She spends her excess money for equalisation efforts on projects for lifting up and raising living standards on associated, trade and rim worlds around the Union territory.

Arkham: she bought out her favorite noodle restaurant in London with her savings as the owner wanted to shut down business do to not having any customers. It worked out for a time but had to shut down eventually, 5 years later do to health issues... but well the rooms are hers. That's is one reason why she likes her flat in London so much no neighbors underneath...

The best protection Is not to get caught in it the wrong way do trust your Slyder (Slyde operator) /Pilot.

The Eltaryn
Seemingly 2 species, one Biomechanical Xenomorphic looking giant, different shades of blue to purple, 1-12 mtrs, cockroaches, spiders and crab like creatures with more appendices as a creature should have, the other 3-8 mtr tall, blue to purple, Mad Max style, bald gorillas. What they unite seems pure blood lust for everyone not am Eltaryn and they so not communice in any recognizable way. You can't capture them or study the corpses either because they always turn to grey dust. First drying rapidly out when captured or injured enough than breaking up like volcanic earth and than turn to dust, same goes for their ships, however if captured it takes some time till this starts usually 3-5 Minutes.
It's kill or be killed on sight.

the Ryde can't punch a hole into reality but it can create a sort of tear/cut in the "nylon fabric" of reality and than submerge partially into it like a submarine reducing its Mass in this universe and changing the needed energy dramatically so ships can travel faster than light. Most of this is achieved via the Anchor. The anchor is a part that remains in our part of this reality (it doesn't need to be a "real object" but simpler designs exist, modern ships project virtual ones). Underneath this dimensional/space itself tear the ships can travel extremely fast, but FTL comes from the universe, it itself doesn't "appreciate" tears in its nylons (show me one person that does, even goth punks may get upset if there newest one gets damaged first time) & trys to seal this tears thus pushing the anchor forward. But if your anchor sinks under the tear it simply seals away the ship & yes both has been weaponized

The RYDE itself. The Remscheid Theory Drive and the subsequent developed Slip/Slyde Portal teleportation system are sort of subspace tunnel usage. While the Slyde (or Slip) punches a hole through it for a short distance connecting 2 points in space that shouldn't exist next to each other and creates a doorway it's never a one way. So open your portal sidewise others from outside could enter, this is why it's usually projected parallel to the ground. But this has problems too.
Try to save your captain who is standing in a faceoff, just project it under that person... Unless you miss calculated the exact layer than you cut of body parts your captain may want to keep to not bleed to death like his feet. Contrary to the SLIP/Slyde the
