By using Beta radiation data (and higher energy Gamma data), I was able to track trouble at #WIPP before it was released publicly (and yes, some rads did get loose), and also #NorthKorean nuclear tests (again, before it was released to the public). And then #RadNet beta tracking went away -- allegedly because the air monitors were faulty? Ummm.... Sure they were.

The WIPP site has had multiple fires and radiation releases in its "short" history:
"New Mexico regulators worry about US plans to ship radioactive waste back from Texas"
"Nuke waste shipments travel 16 million miles to site near Carlsbad amid safety concerns"
Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant
The wolf in the clearing clears the space
or worse, deliberate incest-paved path.
Danger is an emanation of energy
and growls and bites. The revelations
of meditations on the wood substantially disturb this place.
Metal and dripping death.
The palms of the lupines do not grasp or gesture.
The danger unleashed is of a riparian nature.
The danger is in a particular location.

Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant
Using cut-up technique, I combined fragments of my existing poetry with selections from Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. You might know it form all those “This is not a place of honor” memes. By volume, this poem has much more of my poetry about wolves and coyotes than warnings about nuclear waste, but a little nuclear waste goes a long way, as we all know. This poem was first published in Rigglewelter #14 on October 2018.
