Greetings! Can I interest you in a heartwarming donation and/or signal boost of this small Welsh town volunteer-organised Pride festival?

justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sa

Pride is deeply needed in rural Wales, where being queer can be so isolating. And since it's only small, you get a lot of bang for your buck - 16% of the £750 goal has been raised already. :)

Last year was our first Pride (Balchder in Welsh), and thanks to signal boosts on Mastodon and Tumblr it was fully funded within 24 hours, it was EPIC and the organisers were so chuffed that they COULD NOT EVEN.

If you are interested in cricket, and especially if you are interested in Glamorgan cricket, you might like my new feature. As part of my 1960s social history series I intend to follow the Glamorgan cricket team through the summer of 1969, highlighting their games. More details soon.

Top tip for tourists as of this weekend kicking off #tourism season here in #Wales: speed signs are indicators, not challenges. Just because you're on an A-road doesn't mean you'll actually achieve those 50 mph like it says on that sign. Especially not when the road snakes around the side of several mountains for the stretch of some 50 miles. That sign does not give you your top speed, but the speed at which you're guaranteed to crash and die.

Yesterday I visited Dylan Thomas' boathouse and writing shed in #Laugharne for the first time. It's a ditty little museum but very charming! Plus it was a VERY beautiful day for it.

I'll freely admit I knew very little about Dylan Thomas before visiting, and now I know a smidge more (including what he sounded like). Winning, right?

An excellent @thecwordpodcast excursion all in all!
