One for fellow sushi lovers: the wasabi we eat in the west probably doesn't contain any actual wasabi.

@jorijn I actually think this is fine as #wasabi is a storage provider and not a CDN, at least for this S3 product.

I‘m a happy customer since years using them as #arqbackup target for offsite backup.

I never understood why #Wasabi is not a good alternative for #AWS S3 as its much cheaper and egress is free at Wasabi...

Now I found the reason:

"If your monthly egress data transfer is greater than your active storage volume, then your storage use case is not a good fit for Wasabi’s free egress policy"

So wasabi is not a good option for #mastodon media delivery.
If you want/need external storage and delivery look at AWS S3 and Cloudfront.

Hi folks! Another updste. Did a check on a different server we run, https://grandma.space.

It's on a different hosting machine, but also uses #Wasabi as it's host for S3 and is also experiencing image retrieval and creation issues.

If any other Admins with Wasabi as their S3 host are experiencing the same issue, please let me know! Or, if you use Wasabi and everything's working as expected!
