From today at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. I didn't see any of the larger birds that are supposed to be migrating at the moment, apparently it was a lot busier earlier this week. I did still catch a few pretty birds though.

Another view of the cedar waxwings. They only appeared for a couple of days and now seem to have moved on.
In what has become an annual tradition (although I forgot about it this year), here are my favourite shots from each month of 2024.
January: #Waxwings in #VictoriaPark, #Belfast.
February: #Rainbow reflected in #StrangfordLough.
March: #Bluetit on Hawthorn at #WWTCastleEspie.
April: #Goldcrest at #WWTCastleEspie.
More tomorrow.

My photos of the delightful, friendly Waxwings at Brandon Marsh on Friday have gone down well, so here's another.
This portrait is entitled, "Wot are you lookin' at, mate?!?"
I finally got to see some Waxwings today!
While visiting Brandon Marsh near Coventry I was told that Waxwings were present. I have waited years to see these birds! I found the spot where they were active, and eventually a dozen or so landed in a bush just a few metres away from me. Wow, just wow!
These birds are absolute rock stars and I am beyond thrilled to have seen them at last.
The flock of ~30 #waxwings still hanging around the #Connswater #river in #eastbelfast.
No sun today but I got a few shots of these lovely #birds

Just eight #birds with the berries they love, my #painting "A museum of Bohemian #waxwings" is finished!
'Museum' is the collective noun for waxwings.

I used my husband's photos for visual reference.
I hope you like it.
A few more shots of the #Connswater #waxwings.
These beautifully exotic birds have been frequenting a section of the #ConnswaterCommunityGreenway for the last week.

After reading reports of #waxwings in urban #EastBelfast I had to go look for myself.
What lovely #birds they are!
Not many berries left so looks like my #Waxwing season is coming to an end, first of the season were
on 13th October in Unst Shetland with my first in Blairgowrie on 30th October so had a good long run of them but will still be sad to see them go #waxwings #birdsofmastodon #birds #birdphotography #nature #naturephotography #Blairgowrie #Perthshire #Scotland
