It's #WeevilWednesday, post 'em if you got 'em!
These little bluish-black weevils were all over the cosmos in a park. Not sure if #Curculionidae or #Brentidae, subfamily #Apioninae.

I actually have a friend for #WeevilWednesday!
I found this one in the garden, it had a tough bit of spiderweb stuck in its right antenna which I helped it pull off. They seemed to appreciate that but also did a funny defensive dance at the same time (I have video coming next)
another one
Happy #WeevilWednesday! Here's a little fella I met down by the lake the other day.
It’s #WeevilWednesday! This absolute unit magically appeared in the laundry room sink the other night. It’s a chichí, aka citrus root borer weevil. It’s an imported threat to citrus crops, so while very pretty it does not make a good neighbour.
But look at that snoot! And those hooks on the feetsies! And that metallic carapace!
Also, definitely sang “Gold Dust Weevil” to the tune of Hole’s cover of “Gold Dust Woman” when I saw this critter.
I could've saved this for the next #WeevilWednesday but I gotta post it now. A female hollyhock weevil (_Rhopalapion longirostre_) slowly bores into a hollyhock flower bud. Wait for the second one to come walking around so you can see the full length of the snoot.
among everything else, it's #WeevilWednesday.
(Found on evening primrose, probably _Acanthoscelidius acephalus_, one of the minute seed weevils, subfamily Ceutorhynchinae. As soon as you disturb the plant they have the annoying habit of waddling to the tip of the nearest leaf and jumping with surprising strength off into the void.)
Yesterday's weevil sidekick wasn;t the only one we saw on Sunday's hike. Nearly every oxeye daisy (𝘓𝘦𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘶𝘮 𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘦) had a rugged flower weevil (𝘖𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘴) or two:
The wonderful and wonderfully-named Dock Hyper Weevil!
So cute
It's #WeevilWednesday, do you know where your weevils are?
Met this black vine weevil (_Otiorhynchus sulcatus_ on a late-night walk where I didn't have any of my camera stuff, but I just had to get a pic! Very well-behaved and good-natured about briefly being abducted by an alien.
chillin like a weevil villain
captain, it's #WeevilWednesday
_Conotrachelus_ sp.
Saw a pretty little green weevil the other day. Happy #WeevilWednesday
It's #WeevilWednesday! Here's a female hollyhock weevil (_Rhopalapion longirostre_).
My usual hollyhock weevil spot has been blocked off by construction hoarding for weeks and they only just removed it, so I was finally able to glory in these beauties that live just a couple blocks away.
blurry weevil
It's #WeevilWednesday, post 'em if you got 'em.
This weekend I was thrilled to find the first hollyhock weevils (_Rhopalapion longirostre_) of the year! The ones with the loooooong snoots are the females.
