@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me.

I had a rubbish night. I woke several times during it, feeling too hot and sweaty! Ugh, yay hormones... 😔 I got a towel for my pillow, and then I slept till the alarm woke me. But I was still rather tired when it went off. The scale wasn't too bad. Which was nice. Then I got dressed, I took my meds, and I prepped Arwen's meal. Took her outside for a wee and such. She was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to Skoosh.

I caught up with social media. I had received a very sad message, a sweet friend had to say goodbye to their beloved furry friend. They've been together for 16 years (!!!) so it was a very hard goodbye (aren't they always? 😢). It even made me sob for a bit when I replied to their text. I enjoyed my protein shake, and then the meds kicked in, I headed for the seated bike. Rode it for 35 minutes, followed by ten minutes in the massage chair. Then, I switched my shoes and headed back home again.

I washed up, changed clothes, and enjoyed my brekky. Arwen and I got ready for SniffiVerse™ walkies. The weather was lovely, so we were having a good night. Arwen got all her sniffs and I was able to work on my blog a bit.

When we came back, I was rather tired and my muscles were saying a big nope. As I wanted to work in the garden as soon as it would be light enough, I decided to let my body rest a bit. So I watched some telly while writing a bit for a new blog post.

I walked Arwen and then I fixed some food. Then it was light enough, so I got the gloves and shovel, and I headed outside. Arwen went along to supervise me. 😉 I did my best again for yet another hour or so. I was broken (well, dead more like) when I finished it up. It wasn't done yet, but my body was! So I decided to listen to it. I put the things away, changed clothes, and relaxed a bit on the couch.

When it was 9, Arwen wanted walkies again so we headed out. She was fortunate to see the neighbor, so yay for extra nomnoms 😂. Then we got back and I was getting ready to game. But... I heard the stomach of Arwen rumble and sputter in a way that, usually for me, means 't that the bowels aren't too happy about something. So I quickly took her outside again and she found some relief.

I was able to game a bit and I finished the last quests for the expedition. Arwen got her meal and then I let her out for a wee. When we were back, I heard her tummy again... 😔 So I took her outside again for a very short walk and... She found more relief... Poor gall!

Then I went back to gaming till it was time to log off for the walkies with N&B. The weather was very decent and we had a nice walk. I was able to relax a bit after that. And then we got ready for bed.

I fell asleep shortly and I didn't wake till about thirty minutes to the alarm! Guess my body needed the sleep... The scale was less nice, guess the less exercise, and some snacking, weren't the best way to go... Ah well...

Ready to start a new day/night! Let's do this!

Good evening Squirrel Fans.

There are many deep & philosophical questions of our age, to quote the HHGTTG:
“Why are people born? Why do they die? Why do they want to spend so much of the intervening time wearing digital watches?”
But tonight’s quote seeks even deeper meaning:

“Then there was the puzzle of why the sun came out during the day, instead of at night when the light would come in useful.”
― Terry Pratchett, Mort

With that I wish you good night, I’m off to chase baddies thru a virtual world that seems to come closer to reality every day!

@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me! 😁

I had a restless night. I woke several times due to silly reasons, mostly because of stupid dreams that were triggered by the nasty comment some bully left me on one of my toots... 😢 I woke with the alarm, and then went to the scale. Ow, at least it was kinder to me, as I was just below the 80 kilos. 😊 I got dressed, took my meds, prepped Arwen's food, and let Arwen out for a wee. She was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to Skoosh.

I caught up with the notifications while I waited for the meds to kick in, and while I enjoyed my protein shake. I rode the seated bike for half an hour, which seems about the max time that my leg will allow it these days. I had a massage in the chair and then I switched shoes and headed back home again.

I washed up and had my brekky. It was weird not to be greeted by the little black furball, but it was also good to just be me and Arwen again. 😊 After brekky, Arwen and I headed out for the SniffiVerse™ walkies. The weather was decent enough, with 8°C and it being dry. At the open area, there was some wind, making it a bit chilly. Arwen wanted a longer walk, so I let her have all the sniffs.

When we got back, I got my laptop and I worked on my journal blog post. I tried to add decent (AI) alt texts and all that. When I finished most of it, I prepared my food. Arwen and I both enjoyed it. 😋 And then it was time to walk Arwen. After that, I had a wee bit of relaxing, during which I played a little of NMS. Then I got my bag and I headed to Skoosh. Drove to the Appie for some groceries. I needed two of something, so naturally they only had one... So I'll have to try and get another one next week. Ugh... Bummer!

When I got back, I relaxed some, until Arwen wanted her walkies. On our way back she was a lucky gall, as N&B were heading our way. 😉 Nomnoms! Haha! After the walk, I picked up the garden tools at N, and I was able to borrow a shovel from their neighbors, which helped me a lot! It was hard work, but due to the shovel, I got so much done! 💪🏼

I worked on the garden for a little over an hour. Then, my body just said a big nope! I was sweaty, tired, and getting very sore. But, even though it wasn't finished, I sure could see the difference between the "before and after" snaps that I had taken.

As it was really sunny, I decided to wash Arwen's paw towels and her winter jacket. They were in need of a wash, and at least the electricity would be cheap this way. 😉

I fed Arwen and then I was able to relax a wee bit. When Arwen wanted walkies, I felt I was wagging like a penguin 🐧 as my right leg and my back just were to sore. We got back, and I got my relaxing garden chair, and my eReader, and a cold drink... ☀️ I enjoyed some time in the back garden, with some sun, and I was able to read two chapters of my book. Yay! When I wanted to head inside to prepare things for the last walkies, my brain was like "wait, what if..?!". So I got the shovel and tried to loosen up several of the weed bits in the back garden. Maybe they can dry out a bit and then I can take them out as well.

After I did that, and my hands and arms were like "nope, no more!", I prepped the bed time thingies. I went to the loo and then Arwen picked me up. Apparently, N texted when I was on the loo, saying B really wanted walkies. So... On our way we went! The weather was really lovely and the dogs had a nice time at the puddle. But the puddle is in need of some rain for sure! As it's getting smaller and smaller and more muddy... But there's no real rain in the forecast yet? 🤔 It's been the most dry March we've had in years, so the land is in need of some good rain. And, while I do prefer it being dry when I need to walk Arwen, I also know some rain would be good for the nature...

After walkies, I relaxed on the couch a little. Then I let Arwen out for a wee, and I got to bed. I had another restless night where I woke several times until I finally drifted off till the alarm woke me. Ready to start the weekend!

Good evening Squirrel Fans.

Tonight’s quote gives one a keen insight into the personality of Lord Havelock Vetinari, supreme ruler of Ankh-Morpork:

“It was said that [Vetinari] would tolerate absolutely anything apart from anything that threatened the city*... [Footnote] And mime artists. It was a strange aversion, but there you are. Anyone in baggy trousers and a white face who tried to ply their art anywhere within Ankh's crumbling walls would very quickly find themselves in a a scorpion pit, on one wall of which was painted the advice: Learn The Words.”

@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me.

I woke just 20 minutes before the alarm. I didn't wake during my night, so I felt rather good when I woke. The scale was a bit nicer to me, yay for that. I got dressed and then almost forgot there was a little Weener in the living room... So I got into the room and almost tripped over an excitedly jumping little dude! Awww... I'm not used to such a greeting, haha. I took my meds and then took the dogs out for a quick wee. I fixed their meals, and gave their snacks, and then I headed to the gym.

While I enjoyed my protein shake and was waiting for the meds to kick in, I checked a load of sweet messages from a sweet friend. It is always good to catch up with them, whenever they are able to... 😊 I rode the seated bike for half an hour, and then I enjoyed the massage chair for a bit. I switched my shoes and went to the Smurf. It's weird not to see Skoosh waiting for me... 😇

I got home, and got another happy greeting. I washed up, changed clothes, and then I had my brekky. After that, I took the dogs out for the SniffiVerse™ walkies. Bas is a speedy Gonzales, compared to Arwen, and I had to remind myself not to go too fast, as Arwen was used to our slower pace where she can get all the sniffs... It was a challenge to walk them, as one wanted to sniff left and the other to the right. And when we walk on the bike path, even though there's not that many folks around, I still wanna keep myself and the doggos safe to one side so the other side of free, should a bike or moped come along. 😊

We had a very nice walk, but I was very tired when we got home... I relaxed on the couch with some telly, and I wrote a little for my blog. I even managed to read a bit in my new book. I feel I should be reading more so that I can discuss it better with the friend that gifted it to me. 😊

I took my bags and cooler box to Smurf. Then I walked the dogs, before we headed to Nijmegen. As I was taking Skoosh to Germany, I filled up my parents car in Nijmegen, at the cheapest place that that time. Their tank was about halfway empty (or full), so with a full tank, they didn't have to worry about that, should something happen.

I got the dogs home, switched my things, the keys, the papers, and all that. I gave snacks to the dogs and then I headed to Germany. I went to Penny and got some things. Then onwards to the Edeka. I tried to get everything dad asked for, and my own things, and then onwards to Jumbo. The traffic was heavier in the way to the store, so it took me a while to get there.

I got the groceries and I called mum to check with her for the things she may need now that she didn't remember before. I got the things and headed home. Dad was still snoozing... I cleaned up the groceries and then I texted mum. She said she was to be released "soon", so I wanted to pick her up, and then walk the dogs. I asked them to wee in the garden. Which Bas did, but Arwen was stubborn and she wanted the woods. 😔

I headed to the hospital and found a good parking spot. Got a wheelchair for mum, and headed to her room. Found the ward and almost missed the room. 😂 And then... The wait began! As, in the end, it took them another 1½ hours to get mum the release papers! Poor doggos... 😢 While I was waiting, my hormones kicked in and made me feel rather hot... And that caused me a nasty headache... Ugh, I don't need this... 😔

When we finally got home, I took Arwen and the groceries to Herpen. I quickly fed Arwen and had a bite to eat. I took some painkillers, hoping they would help against the headache. Then, Arwen was very eager for walkies, so I texted N, explaining the situation, and she was ok with a little earlier walkies. Yay!

We had a nice walk. The weather was lovely, and the dogs had a good time. I had brought N some chocolate as a thank you for her help with the garden. I think she liked it... 😉 I hope it tasted well when she got to enjoy it...

When we got back, I wanted to check up on Masto. And one of the first messages I got was a very unkind one. It triggered me in many ways, and I felt rubbish! I texted a sweet friend and they told me to block their ass. So I did! Ugh... But it threw me off so much, that I had nightmares during the night. 😢

So I had a broken night and when the alarm woke me, I was feeling rather tired still... I do have some plans for some chores today, so fingers crossed that I'll be able to do them...

The scale was very nice, as it went just a teensy bit below the 80kg. Yay! Finally something positive. So I did my usual things to start the new day/night.

Good evening Squirrel Fans.

This quote reminded me of an incident earlier today - some folk really need to get into some serious footwear pilfering IMHO!

“She had heard it said that, before you could understand anybody, you needed to walk a mile in their shoes, which did not make a whole lot of sense, because probably AFTER you had walked a mile in their shoes, you would understand that they were chasing you and accusing you of the theft of a pair of shoes--although, of course, you could probably outrun them, owing to their lack of footwear.”

Thursday has arrived as Thursdays do, racing past Wednesday towards Friday.

It’s a bit dull & overcast here in deepest, darkest Yorkshire but there is a promise of better weather later & a high of 15ºC.

I’ll hopefully get out later to start cleaning up after the great gravel cleaning exercise, & then maybe spend a little more time on the NMS ‘Relics’ expedition.

Mrs S is off to take her mum to the memory clinic - so that will make 3 of our family with some form of dementia … one would feel cursed if one believed in such things. On the plus side it does mean that I will have a quiet day.

@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me!

I woke once for the loo and then again when my alarm told me it was time. I got up, got to the scale, which wasn't too bad, and I got dressed. Took meds and cared for Arwen. When she was happily eating, I got my bag and I headed to Skoosh. Onwards to the gym. 😊

I caught up with the notifications and when the meds kicked in, my protein shake was done, and I headed to the seated bike. I rode half an hour and then I got to the massage chair. Changed my shoes and headed back home.

Washed up, had brekky, and Arwen and I set off for the SniffiVerse™ walkies. The weather was a bit colder, but ok for the most part. Only when we got to the open area, the wind was nightly strong and cold and my hands didn't like it very much. I worked a bit on my blog while Arwen was getting her sniffs in.

When we got back, I got my two little gasoline canisters and I filled Skoosh with them. Then I headed to Nijmegen. There I switched my keys and papers, and I got Bas on the leash. We drove back to Herpen in Smurf. A short walk with the dogs, and then I fixed myself some food.

When it slowly got more light, my bestie called on her way to work. I was getting ready to take the dogs to the Herperduin. So my friend got to hear me hassle with getting two dogs in the car, and then she got to hear all the birds singing when we were in the woods. The dogs had a good time, so I'm glad that we went there.

When we got back, there was some sun, so I started the washing machine. When the solar panels are happy, then I can use some extra electricity. 😇 I hung the laundry to dry. I wanted to relax a bit but... Arwen decided that it was time for the usual morning walkies. So... We headed out again.

After that, I'd been hoping to game some. But I was so tired... So I lay on the couch, with Basje snug against me, and we enjoyed some telly. I fixed their food, and then I watched some more telly. Apparently, I was very comfy and warm when Bas came back to lay with me, cause I fell asleep for half an hour. I woke when I received a text message from my mum.

The weather was lovely, so I decided to head out again with the dogs. We walked the larger route, and the dogs had some splashes at the puddle, what's left of it anyway...

We we relaxed some more on the couch, as I still felt rather tired. I had wanted to game, but I just couldn't focus well enough. 😔 Around three, we went for a very short walk and then I got ready to head to bed.

It didn't take too long to fall asleep. And when I woke again, it was less than 20 minutes till the alarm. So I really slept well...

Ready to get up and start a new (busy) day/night. 😊

#Journal of a slightly sad Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Tuesday, 01/04/2025).

@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me.

I got up about ten minutes before the alarm. I had a very broken night, as I had woken 4 times. I was warm and I had to wee. I was hot! So I opened the window... I had to pee again... But I wasn't not anymore. It was definitely not the best night. But hey, gotta take it as it comes...
I got to the scale, I got dressed, I took my meds... Of course I cared for Arwen and she was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to Skoosh. Onwards to the gym.

I caught up with the notifications and chats while I was enjoying the protein shake. When the meds had kicked in, I got to the seated bike. Unfortunately, my body was not happy. I think it objected to the "abuse" I'd given it when I worked in the garden with my neighbor on Monday. I was so sore... But I finished half an hour and then I got to the massage chair. A change of shoes and I headed back home again.

Washing up, changing clothes, having my brekky. And then Arwen and I headed out for walkies. It was dry and 3°C. But there was a higher humidity, which made the wind feel very cold at times. My hands struggled to type and after a while, I just watched a series on my phone. I saw there was a new season of Daredevil, or at least several episodes were out, so I started with that one.

When we got home, I got my laptop and I finished the journal blog post for that day. Then I decided to get a shower, as I felt I had enough spoons for now. After that, I even had some spoons to change the bedding, as I guessed it was time for the winter duvet part to come off. Well, the summer part got off the spring/autumn one, and when it gets even warmer, I'll exchange the spring one for the thinner summer one. 😊

Arwen wanted walkies after that. So we headed out. I was struggling a bit to keep myself occupied. Today could have been my 11th wedding anniversary, but we never even made it to 5... Still, the day does bring back memories. And while back then, I thought it to be a great day, the memories have been tainted much by a very bad divorce... So it's hard, even after almost 7 years of being divorced. There was a future I was heading towards... And while the circumstances may not have been the best, I was happy with them at that time. I'm better off now, mentally, for sure. But the financial struggles, and the health ones I have which are made harder by being alone, yeah... So today was a bittersweet day for me... 💔

After walkies, I hovered the downstairs area. Then I relaxed a bit with some telly. My body was sore, and annoying me. Another walk with Arwen and then I gave her an early meal. I then decided to try and finish the privacy screen in the garden. I added some more tie-rips that I hoped would be sufficient to keep the thing in place. And I cut off all the long bits that were sticking out. My hands definitely didn't like the cutting part as I needed some pliers to cut through the hard plastic bits. But! I got it done! Yay me... 😊

A short walk with Arwen and after that, I jumped in Skoosh and I headed to Cuijk. I took Skoosh for another shower. I know she got one two weeks ago, but she will get the TLC on Wednesday (her yearly maintenance), and I need her to be a bit cleaner for that... 😇 Don't want her being a big mess when folks have to work on her...

The PT session was good. Painful, but good! As we now have an estimate for the surgery, my physio and I counted the needed treatments. There is a whole system to it here, and if we "do it right", I'll get the most out of a painful situation. So we counted and scheduled some more appointments. Which my body will surely enjoy, as it is hurting more now I'm walking more badly due to the crooked hip.

I'll wait another week for the hospital to call. If I don't hear from them this week, I'll call next Tuesday and maybe try to get a date for the surgery. I don't wanna wait too long, as I do hope to get this done ASAP, so that I can recover ASAP as well... 😊 Last time I needed surgery, I waited for ages before calling them. And in the end, it seemed that they had forgotten to schedule me. So this time I give them two weeks and then I'll call. Ad the doc said a two month waiting list, and they usually plan up till 6 weeks in advance. So I should hear from them this week... I hope...

I went to Lidl, got my groceries, and then I headed back home again. I had something to snack, and then Arwen wanted walkies. So I texted N and we got ready. The weather wasn't too bad, but there was a big wind, which made it a bit chilly at times. But the dogs both had a good time at the water bit and that's most important.

When we got back, I was rather tired, so I crashed on the couch with some telly. And I forgot that I wanted to empty the little gasoline canisters in Skoosh, so I'll need to do that before I drive to Nijmegen on Wednesday morning...

I let Arwen out for a wee, and then I headed to bed. It didn't take too long to fall asleep. I woke once for the loo, and then when my alarm woke me. So I guess I needed the sleep. And the thinner duvet was a good choice. 😊

Onwards to a new, and busy, day/night!

I woke from a long sleep about an hour before the alarm was set to go off. I really had to go, and then I started my usual routine. The scale was well... As usual as well. I got dressed, took my meds, prepped Arwen's food, and I let her out for a wee. She was happily eating when I grabbed my bag and headed to Skoosh.

I caught up with the notifications and chats while I was enjoying my protein shake (and waiting for the meds to kick in). I rode the seated bike for half an hour. And then I walked the treadmill for one kilometer, not too fast, but with a slight incline. I enjoyed a ten minute massage and then I switched shoes and got ready to had home again.

A quick wash up, a change of clothes, some brekky, and then Arwen and I headed out. Arwen seemed a bit reluctant to come, she was slow and asking for many cuddles. So we took it slow and after a bit, she was happily getting all the sniffs. She also did her business a lot! I wondered what that was about. As she didn't eat anything different and we had our normal walks and all that... But I think she felt relieved and then she happily trotted along the way. I worked on my blog a bit and watched a bit of streaming series.

When we got back, I changed clothes and I rode the hometrainer for half an hour. Then my neck, hands, and leg were being asshats... 😔 I even took some extra painkillers so I could relax a bit. Arwen wanted some earlier walkies, but then was disappointed that she didn't see the neighbor. Well, can't have it all Arwen! 😉 We headed out around 7 again. And then I hoovered the downstairs area. I got my bag and headed to the supermarket after that. I had no food... 🫣 And was getting a bit hungry (I thought I still had something in the fridge, but I thought wrong, whoops...).

I got my groceries and when I was back home, my bestie called. She was later today, and we had a chat while I prepped and started eating my meal. 😊 After that, I had a wee bit of relaxing and then Arwen wanted out again. While we were out, N&B came as well. We had a nice walk. And then they came along with me, as N was sweet enough to help me with the hanging of the privacy screen in the back garden. 😇 And I could have never managed this on my own. It was a challenge with the two of us. And, of course, having two curious furballs with us, that didn't help either! When I was upside down, they tried to kiss me or get between my legs! 😂 We sure had some laughs! But in the end... We got it hanging! It needs a finishing touch, but my hands were so sore, that I'll do that some other day.

The neighbor and B went home again, and I fixed Arwen some food. Then we relaxed on the couch. But not too long, as an hour later, Arwen wanted walkies again... 😅 Oof I was getting really tired...

After walkies, I had about 1:30 to relax with some telly. And then... You guessed it! 😂 Arwen and B had some nice splashes and fun, which was the most important thing.

I relaxed a bit and around 15:15, I took Arwen out for a last wee. Fortunately she did one, so we could head to bed. It took a short while to fall asleep, but...

I woke after an hour, needing a wee and being warm. I fell asleep again, only to wake an hour after that! I was so warm. I opened the window, and then I slept for about 4 hours. And then I woke again for the loo, but I wasn't to hot anymore. Then I woke again about ten minutes before the alarm. I didn't feel as tired as I expected, so I started my day/night, to try to make the best of it... 😊
