I have clear-headed opinions, but I recently discovered that some people have those topics blocked. Not that I blame them. They can be very depressing. Imagine madness in the valley while the people paid to stop it sit on the hilltops and watch. Very sad. Sometimes the best thing is to change the channel.I’m not feeling particularly creative this morning. So I hammer out words. I have the best words, you know. 😉 I know what you’re thinking: how can he have the best words—did he write a dictionary? Well, no. But I looked at one once. I even have a couple of paperback versions lying around the office. These days, with everything online, I rarely reach for them.Still, “best words”—don’t I have the same words as everybody else? Well, not everybody. Everybody doesn’t speak English. So does English have the best words? Now I’m starting to question myself.I did create a word once, arguably the best word: geniosity—a term for the level of genius possessed by a person. It’s not widely accepted yet, but I stand by it. BeeCyclingA local dialect word that's one of my favourite words is "neb." Of Dutch and Germanic origin it's a word used in the North of England and Scotland meaning nose, snout or beak. So anywhere you might use nose, you can use neb, though it's usually associated with being nosey. Like "He's always sticking his neb in." But it's not just a noun. A nosey person is nebby. Someone nosing around is nebbing. And you can "have a neb" like having a nose around somewhere.
