Today I opened an Ableton set from 2014 I thought I’d lost. Joy in a pleasant surprise was soon gone as I saw what a state the set was in. Like seriously in such disarray I couldn’t figure out what was where and when. Yet this set was used live and on my first ep. So I’ve obviously learned some things since then which is nice. This is #ablegit. It's a git template that ungzips .als, .adg and .adv files to compare the XML within... yes. I brought git to Ableton projects so that you can collaborate with other people!
Basically what it does it setup some hooks for the diff process that allows git to be aware of the XML content, and then gzips it again to make it instantly usable in Ableton Live.

Hi, I am Florian, a #Xennial doing #MusicComposition since I had a #CircleOfFifths-epiphany at school. Around the same time, I started playing #guitar and #piano .
I got started with #MusicProduction on the #CommodoreAmiga with #OctaMED , moved to #Cubase and #Samplitude , did some experimenting with #Ardour on #LinuxAudio , and ended up in #AbletonLive . I used to run a small #RecordingStudio , but switched to a different day job.
Is it bad/weird that I want to learn FL Studio over Ableton Live because of how much smaller the Akai Fire controller is than the Ableton Push 2? That's how little desk space I have at the moment.
This is a very small nuisance, but in Ableton Live, sometimes I end up dragging an audio clip onto a MIDI track, and it would be nice to have an option to convert the MIDI track into an audio track.
