jonathankoren™
Kleya is awesome. #andor

Ken M Sweeney
@Catawu thanks. It's been bugging me ever since I saw the episode last year. I was thinking about introducing the way modern drama compared to say, 70s drama (Sophie's Choice springs to mind) is lacking uncomfortable realism - what would you do - in the storylines. #Andor succeeded because its lifespan was short and wrote what it needed to work. If sci-fi is to be taken seriously — as a moral and emotional genre, not just speculative adventure — it needs to embrace that kind of honesty again.

Jeff Forcier
Also, if you're like me and was already Star Warsed out by the Disney era:

It bears repeating that #Andor was really. Really. REALLY. FUCKING GOOD!

It would have been the best thing I'd watched in years even if it had ZERO connection to #StarWars.

Yet /simultaneously/, it's easily the best Star Wars since the original trilogy. Just incredibly smartly made, gorgeously produced, fantastically acted, dripping with the setting while /never/ being irritatingly fannish about it.

Jeff Forcier
And that's a wrap on #Andor.

Reckon I'm watching Rogue One tomorrow night. Barely remember it, so it'll be fun getting all the presumed references the show made, but backwards?

Jeff Forcier
#Andor. One episode left.

Space Morse Code!

Jeff Forcier
Watching #Andor S2E10-12.

One down, two to go.

Space Crocs!

Stefan Edward Jones
Next week I rewatch "Rix Road," then the season finale of season two, then "Rogue One," for the first time in about nine years.

Will there ever be a series of brilliant as #Andor?

Stefan Edward Jones
Watched the penultimate episode of #Andor, season one. A fairly quiet but brilliant set-up for Rix Road.

All sorts of people want Cassian dead, or captured.

Luthen fucks up an Imperial cruiser just for fun.

Darth Hideout 🏳️‍🌈
There was an interesting bit in #Andor, I think S2E3, which was, “Sagrona Teema.” (Though I may have both those details wrong.)

In the prep for the actual wedding, Mon & Leida are alone. Mon tells the story of her own wedding day, when she was 15, another traditional Chandrilan arranged wedding. She said her mother was drunk & she never forgave her for it.

But then Leida expresses some cold feet & Mon launches into a speech declaring that her daughter doesn’t have to go through with this horrible arranged marriage. To which Leida replies, with a look of disgust:

I wish you *were* drunk.

In the first season, at one point when Vel visits, she laments Leida lapsing into the conservative “Old Ways.” But Mon tells her it’s all Leida & her friends ever do or talk about.

Mon, space hippy & freedom fighter, wants to release her daughter from the burden she herself has born much of her life. (Perrin. lol) And Leida is severely disappointed that her mother would shit all over The Old Ways on her own special day.

In part, the wedge between the two characters helps set up Mon’s flight from Coruscant in Ep 9. She’s leaving her family behind. But with both Perrin & Leida, the separation began much earlier.

However, it also illustrates a younger generation growing more conservative to the dismay of their elders. Leida never knew the Republic. She’s a child of the Empire.

#StarWars

Lazarou Monkey Terror 🚀💙🌈
The idiots who think Star Trek is too political these days will also completely miss what Andor was about.
But the rest of us, who read and understand narratives get just how fucking important that show is, I know I've been feeling a bit 'Andor' these days....watching my back...

https://thelefthook.substack.com/p/andors-warning-how-fiction-unmasks

#Andor

Jeff Forcier
like you telling me someone snorted a line of ground up mousedollars during preproduction of #Andor and they could simply not come up with a better surname for this weasly-yet-startlingly-handsome rogue than "something that sounds exactly like a major plot location in the original trilogy"?????

COME THE FUCK ON

Jeff Forcier
"usual SW plot holes" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here obviously, there's just so many to choose from.

sure, fella just gonna randomly joyride a junkyard starship to some other planet overnight like it's a quick drive to the next city?

every god damned planet is either 1) a single small sized city in a barren wasteland or 2) an ecumenopolis – nothing in between? EVER? What the christ graham-cracker fuck.

also don't get me started on the names, mister Kassian "Forest Moon Of" Ændor… #Andor

Andy Piper
Finished #Andor and straight into #RogueOne - which I haven't re-watched since it came out.
