I've been focusing on translating news and blog posts from Israeli media to illuminate the historical and contemporary dimensions of Israel's occupation of Palestine and its enduring consequences.From my perspective, it is difficult to reconcile Israel's status as an occupying power with credible claims of self-defense, considering its actions have resulted in the displacement and marginalization of the indigenous population of Palestine for almost eight decades. I strongly disagree with the current regime's policies and actions, which do not reflect my values nor those of many Jewish people living in Israel or not. Sendak was so moved he sent the boy another letter with his own personal “Wild Thing” drawn on it. The boy’s mother sent Sendak a thank you note saying that her son loved the card so much he ate it.
