A team of astronomers have used ALMA to observe the supergiant star DFK 52, and found a cloud of ejected material 1.4 light-years across!

DFK 52 is around 10-15 times more massive than the Sun. About 4000 years ago it went through an episode of extreme mass shedding, and then slowed down to its current rate. It has already lost 5-10% of its mass, for reasons still unkown 🤔

#UMPlus - A Gamma-Ray Pulsar

universomagico.net/2025/08/un-

This fascinating field of view harbors an incredible mystery, invisible to the human eye. It was captured using the OGM spectrograph on the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii. Within this nebulous region, gamma-ray emission is present. PSR J2030+4415 is an extremely dense object left behind by the death of a.....

The Moon is the largest, brightest night sky object as seen from Earth, famous for its phases, for causing the tides, and for its role in both solar and lunar eclipses. But even beyond those well-known, relatively simple scientific phenomena that have been linked since ancient times, there are more subtle science lessons to learn that are no less profound. These five additional pieces of information can be gleaned simply by observing the Moon, holding profound lessons for our reality itself.
This is nice reading, & surprisingly illuminating [try the veal]. However...
