This seems to be a huge issue among younger <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23bands" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bands</a>. What is the reason for this? Arrogance? Organizational chaos? Every delay makes planning more difficult.</p>

Since my #covid infection in 2022 and subsequent #LongCovid that followed, I have almost completely lost my ability to be social.

I went from being in 6 busy #bands, playing and attending/working shows 6 nights a week, always at parties and never without a gaggle of friends, to recoiling in horror to most interactions, and avoiding them at all costs.

It's a deeply subconscious thing - it's feels physiological... a strong repulsion. My mind & body will find ANYTHING to do or think about rather than reply to that text, or go over and shake that hand.

The exceptions seem to be biased toward individuals who have demonstrated they have a reasonable understanding of the *real world*, opposed to the hyper-normalised *fake world* that exists only in the imagination of non-discerning mainstream media consumers.

This is largely what #mastodon is for me: a way to surround myself with safe people who base their worldview on science and facts and are deeply informed of historical context. These - you - are my people, and I very much look forward to continuing to re-learn how to social, with you.
