I'm quite liking Pagecord and the ability to post to it from email on my phone. Much easier than trying to deal with a web-based composer in a mobile browser.

Uff finally I wrote the blogpost for a hike I did in May (and you've probably seen the video of it already). But I haven't shared the #photos ans some more background story from it.
I don't know why but this time I found it really hard to write. Maybe I'm a bit out of practice or I just didn't find the right mood for it - I'm not sure.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

After a series of politically motivated attacks on the campus I study and work at, someone broke into my office yesterday. Only to move things around and scare us.
I never thought loving books and knowing nerdy things would put me in the line of fire.
Let's fight anti-science-movements, please?!?!
Two years ago, I enabled comments on selected blog posts by utilising Mastodon replies as the mechanic.
As time passed on, I noticed I didn't use it that often.
I wanted to see if it was a tooling issue so I built a new CLI tool for myself that makes connecting a Mastodon post and a blog post easier and so far it's been a joy to use.

"If it’s here on the blog, great! If it’s on the RSS feed, that’s cool too.
In fact, I want people to use my RSS feed because everyone who uses RSS keeps the standard alive, and RSS is too amazing to be lost."

I've finally gotten around to posting a blog about the Aurora Australis we had on the 1st of June this year.
I've included my camera set up and settings, and also didn't do any post-processing on my photos so you can see what comes out of the back of the camera.

Working on my new home (https://davidaugust.ghost.io/ on day 2 of my 124 day trial) for my articles and #blogging, I am realizing that unlike in the past, it might not make sense to use feedburner anymore.
My new home will allow me to have the whole thing served from a domain I own and control, including the feed.
Making a #proxy for the #feed, to preserve #subscribers if I were to change #tech or companies, seem a little superfluous. Am I missing compelling reasons to use #feedburner in 2025?

I'm migrating my articles and blogging, and you can kind of follow my process.
I just posted this, which includes this line: "Building your goals in someone else’s sandbox alone is not ideal, a little like building a castle on sand."
