From a british journalist who was not only targeted by a huge slander campaign online for exposing links between Facebook &amp; Brexit, but also a SLAPP lawsuit. Life on the Wicked Stage: Act 3<p><strong>Carole Cadwalladr: This Is What A Digital Coup Looks&nbsp;Like</strong></p><p>The subhead above says you need to watch this. I’m repeating that here. You do. </p><p>Carole Cadwalladr tells it like she sees it. More importantly how many of us see it. But she is brave enough to speak it. </p><p>In her post announcing the release of this video of her TED Talk this year, she recounts how she knocked the Silicon Valley World off its axis with her 2019 TED Talk implicating Facebook, and Silicon Valley as a whole, for their role in Brexit. She’s back and talking about the ever increasing dangerous threats we’re facing today given how much we’ve already surrendered and those in control of our digital lives have capitulated to those in control of our politics. Or is it the other way around? As she puts it “a digital coup.” </p><p>Of course, I think she’s spot on.</p><p>I could go on and on, with words describing her thoughts, but your time would be better spent watching and listening. </p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/TZOoT8AbkNE?si=INYH-BZVmG6uP5w8" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/TZOoT8AbkNE?si=INYH-BZVmG6uP5w8</a></p><p>You should also read her post, <a href="https://broligarchy.substack.com/p/speaking-truth-to-tech-gods-i-return?utm_campaign=email-post-title&amp;utm_medium=email" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Speaking Truth To Tech Gods: I Return To TED.</a></p><p>A big hat tip to <a href="http://@ianRobinson@mastodon.social" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ian Robinson</a> for sharing these links on Mastodon.</p><p><em>You can find more of my writings on a variety of topics on Medium at <a href="https://medium.com/@WarnerCrocker" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this link</a>, including in the publications&nbsp;<a href="https://medium.com/ellemeno" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ellemeno</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://medium.com/rome-magazine" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Rome.</a></em>&nbsp;<em>I can also be found on social media under my name as above.&nbsp;</em></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/ai/" target="_blank">#ai</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/brexit/" target="_blank">#Brexit</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/carole-cadwalladr/" target="_blank">#CaroleCadwalladr</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/ted/" target="_blank">#TED</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://warnercrocker.com/tag/this-is-what-a-digital-coup-looks-like/" target="_blank">#ThisIsWhatADigitalCoupLooksLike</a></p>

The EU, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Vietnam and others, all hit back or at least done something. I defy you to find any semblance of meaning in this from Starmer. Any iota of an inkling of a plan. One sentence or even two words strung together that aren’t complete and utter political speak bullshit. The man utters a thousands words and never do they mean anything. Absolutely full of shit and I voted for him for context

When the #USA stood with the allied forces in the fight against facsism.

Today I am proud of those who fought for freedom, sad for those who died, and those who suffered.

Also sad about #brexit and the situation in the USA today.

We are stronger together.

@clive Ah, #dejavu #trumpregime #tradepolicy

How often have we read explanations during the #brexit years from business people, e.g. trying to explain to the #Brexit Taliban that there are good reasons why some car parts crossed the channel a dozen time during manufacturing (Hint: certain specialised processing steps were only available in some hubs in Europe, and it makes zero economic sense to replicate them in the UK, not enough UK only business).

#Starmer decides to use #Trump induced #tariff chaos as an excuse to row back on EV targets for 2030 and slash planning regs (aka environmental protections) while his ministers claim they’ve unearthed A #Brexit bonus - we’re still being kicked in the nuts, but not poked in the eye at the same time like the EU.

My hopes were low, but they’ve just gone through the floor
