Witness the elegance of this illuminated manuscript, merging spirituality with exquisite artistry from 15th century Nepal. The celestial beings and lush designs capture the essence of Buddhist ceremony. What stories do you think this text holds?

I have had the pleasure of meeting Hoshina Seki a couple of times while visiting the New York Buddhist Church in Manhattan and the American Buddhist Study Center located therein (of which Hoshina is president).
Here is an article written last year where Hoshina describes her path as a trans woman with the backdrops of life in America as a Buddhist woman and as a Japanese American.
I find it very pertinent today, especially as she describes attacks against Japanese immigrants and US citizens of Japanese descent by the US govt that mirror the ICE raids that we're seeing today.

I've just read a most disturbing account of social conditions in Tibet / Xizang. It's from a PRC perspective so I'm looking for other sources to find out about social conditions pre-1959 Chinese Invasion.
The Tōdai-ji temple at Nara has many deer around it in the nearby park. Despite there being a lot of these pointy bois and many posted signs, people get rrrreally close to them, which they don't entirely love (unless you've bought them a cracker.) FAFO, I guess.
Two works made by my frend Em aka Suphannee, lots of calming green and gold tones in these; reach out to me if you like either one & would like some info. Very easy to order! Just contact me
I want my feed to be more focused on topics like Anarchism, Syndicalism, Psychedelics, Buddhism, Linux, and LGBTQIA. To do this, I'm going to unfollow some people so my feed aligns better with my interests and values.
No hard feelings to anyone, except for fascist scums, I'll block them right away.
It's like #FollowFriday, so if you want to support me, boost this post!
Album of Daoist and Buddhist Themes: Kings of Hells: Leaf 39 showcases the dynamic interplay of divine beings and moral narratives. This artwork brilliantly reflects classical Chinese artistry and storytelling. How do you interpret the interactions within this scene?

I had a really profound experience. I've been reading Thich Nhat Hanh's commentary on the Sutra on the Full Awareness of Breathing. Last night as I settled onto my meditation cushion I thought: "What the heck, I'll try it. Buddha, you do the breathing, I'll just watch." As I sat I was able to hold my awareness like never before and I was suffused with this sense of warm comfort. It was the first real breakthrough I've had in years. Thanks Thay. #buddhism #religion #meditation

Hearing the garden of life in Natalia Lafourcade's songs caused me to think of "The Simile of the Citadel" sutta.

Thanks again! I genuinely appreciate all of you, except for fascist scum, who get blocked immediately.

Buddhistdoor Quote for Today: Master Huiyuan (334–416 CE)
When we let go of our attachments—our fixed way of thinking, worldly matters, or even the sacred path—and fully entrust ourselves to Amitabha Buddha, we realize that we have lost nothing, for the name of Amitabha Buddha encompasses everything. — Master Huiyuan (334–416 CE)
