Wasn't up for a run today. But remembered that we had a TRX strap (Calisthenics) in the van, that we haven't used for 9+ months. Boy, only 7 minutes and I was knackered, I used to do 25min sessions followed by 25min of Rope Flow, think Tai Chi with a weighted skipping rope. I sooo need to get back into this.

who´s up for a calisthenics challenge here in Fediverse? i can also call it a yoga challenge as the poses are used in both.
I want to improve my L-sit and Tuck Planche (Lolasana) by doing approximately one month challenge but it´s a lot more fun if somebody else join, and the more people the better!
I´m thinking about planning everyday short video drill or a fun but helping pose variation. Good to start from a scratch and good to improve if you have already nailed the poses.
What do you think?

I realized I had never done an #introduction post, so here goes a brief.

I am from #Texas where I also did an undergraduate in #physics. I was part of a radio #astronomy group were I used #linux as part of my research and came to appreciate #foss.

I enjoy the process of grinding and brewing #coffee in different styles, doing #calisthenics for #fitness, and riding #motorcycles.

I am currently working out of my field, but looking to make a move into #tech.

#calisthenics week 8:
1️⃣ walk to wall handstand & hold 20s
2️⃣ wide push-up 3x8
3️⃣ hanging L-sit hold 30s
4️⃣ negative pull-up 3x4
5️⃣ wide squat 3x15
6️⃣ dips 3x5
7️⃣ hollow hold 3x30s

Walk to wall handstand is still a Pisa tower vs the straight against-the-wall hold it should be. I am afraid my arms will give away on the walking out of position if too long.

Today I also went for a 10km bike ride with 20kg of kid on the back seat.

4️⃣ pull-up hold 20s
5️⃣ chair dips 3x12
6️⃣ lying leg raise 3x12
7️⃣ forward lunge 3x12

Focusing on form during #pushups. I do them on my toes and go down until I briefly touch the ground.
However I am still so weak that in order to avoid failure I do 2 reps and then take a 20-30s break.

The progress for today has been on the pull-up hold. I could stay in the position for 20s

Yesterday I went for a day trip with my son's class to the forest. We walked a lot and did a scavenger hunt, so I count that as a workout 😅.
If all goes well tomorrow morning I'll wake up at 6 to go running. It's been 6 weeks since my last one 😟
