#ThrowbackThursday to the last time I was in the #USA

I did a road trip down the Oregon coast in #2023 with my partner with a turnaround in Portland before looping back through Mt. Hood.

🧵 In retrospect we both felt it was too far and too much to do in the 4 days we had - and aside from Mt. Hood and some falls in the Columbia River Gorge I found photography to be limited to just iconic spots - any recommendations for next time?

☀️Sun's out, time for some fun! Shooting three cute plastic "toy" film cameras 😅

What do we have here then? These take 110 film, about half the size of your more common 35mm film. You get 24 shots per cartridge, each a tiny 13mm x 17mm negative.

I have killed yet another Wyze camera.

Probably should buy a self hosted, non botnet/DDoS compromised camera instead. Maybe I should just build something with an Arduino or ESP32. (except weatherproofing DIY cameras is not easy)

The DEA Once Touted Body Cameras for Their “Enhanced Transparency.” Now the Agency Is Abandoning Them.

An internal email obtained by ProPublica said the agency made the change to be “consistent” with a Trump executive order. But at least two other federal law enforcement agencies are still requiring body cameras.

I realized on my last trip that it's time for a new point & shoot camera (current one is 10 years old). I'm tired of lugging around my old DSLR. So mastodon #hivemind - what point & shoot cameras do you recommend? and why do you like particular ones? In the past I was very happy with my #Panasonic #Lumix cameras but reading current reviews I'm not sure I'll stick with them. Currently leaning toward #Sony or maybe #Canon. #Photography #DigitalPhotography #Travel #Point&ShootCamera #Camera
