Here is the latest folding spoon that i have made for a costumer. its made out of cherry wood. I absolutely love how the chipcarved pattern turned out, i will definetly do a similar pattern in the future. I usually sketch out a small part of the pattern in advance and then the rest of the pattern is allowed to grow out of the sketch when I carve.

This was a commisoned pice. a spoon like this one would cost about 4000 SEK. Its takes about three days of fulltime work to make a spoon like this.

🔴 **Stone Carving**

Over the last couple of days, I have been watching a number of online videos demonstrating the art of letter cutting. I found the carving of serif letters and their end results particularly pleasing. I hope the techniques, expertise, and mastery that humans have developed over many centuries in this craft is not lost in the rush for automation.

This is the worst kind of deliberately misleading von Daniken-esque self-aggrandising utter #woowoo .
People have been working stone for over two million years and carving pretty shapes out of it for fun for over two hundred thousand years.
A 950 year old intricately carved ceiling and columns are very lovely but neither surprising nor mysterious.
You insult the people who made the art and those to whom you address your video.

Interior: birch, willow, lime, ash, beech, barberry...

Argh! Did #pumpkin #carving with youngest - she kept it nice and simple and I (as per usual) tried to go a bit 'extra' and you probably can't see in the pic, but I did a bit of a hack job and I think hers looks wonderful! I think the photo of mine came out OK though! 🎃
