@noelreports As I wrote earlier, both the (soviet-)russians and the CCP's revolutionary "PLA" were *belligerents* during WWI.
Stalin was invading any country in the West and South that it possibly could (and later invaded Japan too after its surrender despite 'neutrality pact!), and the CCP were *not fighting the Japanese* but trying to weaken the Republic of China (Kuomintang/KMT) who *were* Allies and actually fighting the Imperial Japan.
For these *currently military-expansionist* despots, putin and xi, to be spouting about just WWII causes and claiming manufactured 'honour' is beyond

Besides this being a total 🖕🖕 to all actual democracies worldwise, it bears understanding that the chinese communists now running the chinese dictatorship (since 1949) were fighting the *Republic of China* (Kuomintang), i.e. weakening China and in effect *helping the japanese imperial army*.
CCP revolutionaries were soviet-russian assets and wholly dependent on stalin's support. In April 1941 USSR and the japanese signed a neutrality pact. Stalin needed the Far-east settled while he moved troops in preparation for another westward push (tl:dr: hitler's Barbarossa caught stalin's attack formations with their pants down...).
The soviet-japanese pact meant that the CCP (soviet assets) weren't fighting the japanese either.
For the CCP to now claim credit for the anti-japanese resistance struggle is typical outrageous rewriting of history. The KMT in China and the Allies in the pacific and elsewhere in Asia did the fighting that only ended with the two nukes.
PS. And as could be expected by an expansionst dictator, stalin of course backstabbed the japanese *after Japan had surrended* to the Allies and proceeded to invade the northern islands anyhow... 🤷♂️ They haven't signed a peace treaty yet.

"Hindi-Chini bhai bhai" ('brotherhood') is back with a vengeange; and still over the corpse of occupied Tibet (1950 - ?) which brought the expansionist CCP's army to the northern gates of India in the first place. 
Seems that the hostile imperialistic dictatorship that now (since 1950s) neighbours India, has since invaded India multiple times and routinely ridicules Indians in state-approved media is a far lesser threat to Modi's hindu-nationalism than the evil *liberal democracy*...
