Today I was working about 45 minutes drive to the west of where I live. Between jobs I ducked into a cafe and about 5 minutes later a guy walks in who I know. I haven't seen him since before covid and he lives a further 45 minutes west of where we were. A pretty random meeting which made my Monday something quite wonderful

What are the odds? Got a new book from the library and started reading an Oxford resident's WW2 diaries while waiting for my dental appointment.
Turns out, the person who wrote the diary lived IN the house where my dental practice is these days!
In her retirement, my mum has been learning to play the cello, having played it when she was at school.
She went to the Oxfam music shop at the weekend to get a book of studies, to practice with.
She found one, opened it up, and... saw her name written inside the cover, in her own handwriting from 60-odd years ago.
For some days, I leave open my telegram group to study how synchronicity is related with the development of #extrasensorial #skills. Just as I was getting ready to leave the house, there was a sudden power surge and then a big BZZZZT as though a transformer exploded and then the power went out. I ran outdoors but the transformers were fine. The power came back on, and a neighbour stood in her driveway all flustered. She said she opened her car trunk and the power line exploded. Directly overhead, the insulation was missing and the wire a bit frayed.
She kept apologizing for exploding the wire by opening the trunk. I can't imagine what that would have to do with anything, but I didn't see any exploded bird or squirrel. What do you suppose caused the explosion? #PowerOutage #PowerShort #Explosion #Electrical #Coincidence

I keep this copy of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" in a special box that also holds other paraphernalia associated with an extended spate of stand-out coincidences and #serendipity that began last year and that has somewhat continued this year.
One particular #coincidence involved my finding this #book in a Little Free Library the very next day after discussing the #novel with two women from #Belgium the previous evening.
