I am job hunting if anyone is looking for an #IT #engineer

I currently work in Mergers and Acquisitions as an IT specialist in the embroidery field, but I have experience with #Cisco #networking including their Firepower ASA and their switches. I am also an #MDM engineer and I am the team lead for SOP writing and development.

I would like to get back into a #datacenter job. I am comfortable with #travel and I'm comfortable with #parttime and #contract work if you have any recommendations.

I won't do defence companies though.

@markwyner @deirdrebeth

It's very interesting, as a lay person considering hosting an activity-pub based server and allowing open sign-ups, it felt to me like they were trying to hedge against the fact that once something's published online, especially via a federated publishing network, the publisher doesn't have a legally meaningful (to my mind, but I am not a judge) mechanism to reliably unpublished it from the internet. As I read it, they seemed to be asking the user to agree that all parties understood and accepted this.

I could be wrong, of course, and I'm sure the author of your link would say I am (under their subheading "What about federation?" where they seem to think what I describe is handled implicitly, and that's fine for all parties), but nevertheless it's food for thought for me, in how I might compose/adjust a ToS agreement. Thank you for sharing it.

An agent emailed me the "perfect" contract role today. Senior/Lead DevSecOps Engineer, one year contract, outside IR35, and totally my skillset. Sent my CV and got the job spec. It's perfect except for: "working APAC hours: 00:00–09:00 CET".

LOL! Brother I'm 52 years old. Are you trying to kill me?

…In the lead-up to the Nov election, #Musk offered voters in 7 states that were considered key to the election $47 & later $100 for signing a petition *supporting* the US Constitution. Registered voters were also promised payments for referring voters in the 7 states who signed the petition.

The 3 plaintiffs, residents of Pennsylvania, Nevada & Georgia, claim that #AmericaPAC breached a #contract by failing to pay in full.

"Meanwhile, corporate media asks, “Can he do that?” These stories are engineered to distract the public with technicalities. While everyone’s debating what they can and can’t do, they are doing it.

We know this administration’s pattern of loose interpretation when it comes to law and historical precedent. There’s no reason to believe he’ll stop here, instead using this act to use force against anyone his administration considers a threat, regardless of their status or what they’re protesting.

You also have to remember this country has a long, established history of censoring speech and leading witch hunts. During WWI, god help you if you didn’t buy enough liberty bonds or called yourself a pacifist.

We’re the land of moral panics.

Every single one of this administration’s actions have been building toward this moment, when the president suspends our civil and human rights. It explains why they’ve taken such aggressive action toward federal agencies, firing tens of thousands of workers and purging their ranks of anyone who might say no. They’ve already been testing boundaries, daring courts to stop them as they shut down government operations and kidnap U.S. citizens."

The #Trump admin said in the filing that it was complying w/ #US District Judge Amir Ali's temporary restraining order, pointing to a line in the order saying that the #USAID & the #State Dept were not barred from "enforcing the terms of contracts & grants."

It said it was reviewing the frozen agreements & had determined that all of them allowed the admin to terminate or suspend them, either on their own terms or "implicitly."

A little #landlord #tenant 🧵

Recently had to cross swords with my office space landlord -- a south cal tech industry hot rod, turned wannabe rocky mountain cowboy rentier.

As you can observe below, it didn't go well for Mr. landlord.

I don't say this to brag (well maybe just a little) 😎

But rather to illustrate for tenants a sure fire way to #CoverYourAss with your landlord if you decide you need to make an early exit and are stuck in a #lease / #contract.

#Trump admin adds #FinePrint to #FederalEmployees #buyout offer

It's been a week since nearly all 2.3M civilian employees of the #FederalGovernment were presented w/an offer: Agree to resign from your job by Feb 6 & keep your pay & benefits through the end of Sept.

Now, w/the deadline nearing, #FederalAgencies have sent out new terms & conditions in the form of a sample #contract agreement that employees are told they can use to "memorialize" the deal.
