Joyful yellows in our gardens. They spark joy

Today I'm cleaning the seeds for Lance-leaved coreopsis / tickseed (Coreopsis lanceolata). This #NativePlant is yellow and drought tolerant.

I've never collected seeds from this particular plant before; instead I bought them.

Now I know that, generally speaking, if seedheads are brown and dried, the seeds can be harvested. You can collect seeds without being a nursery "professional" and they will grow.

And my last #BloomScrolling for the day is the reds! First is a #marigoldsociety and second is a tall plains #coreopsis that didn’t follow the dress code.

Also known as Threadleaf Coreopsis, Thread-leaf Tickseed, Tickseed, or Whorled Coreopsis

We have a couple of bushes of these. I like to photograph them because the location of one of the bushes gets a lot of broken sunlight causing nice shadows to play with. The other bush gets a lot of direct sunlight making brightly colored photos.

Coreopsis. It looks like a
Coreopsis lanceolata to me. My wife grows several variations of Coreopsis.

This one was seemingly handing in space over the walkway by our house.
