The branch seemed almost made for the cat; each night he climbed up, warm scarf trailing softly behind, and nestled in as if the tree itself had saved this seat just for him.

Badly lit before and afters of my #WIPWednesday evening effort. Normally I stitch two-handed these days, but tonight I just floomphed in a warm blanket and sent one hand out to clutch a needle in the cold.
Doesn't matter if it's slow, progress is progress! And I used the other hand to drink tea and eat biscuits while watching Star Trek Voyager, which is a win in anyone's book.
This is only my third cross stitch project. Mistakes have been made; pencil lead has been used, and fabric has been stretched, but I'm still pretty proud of how this is turning out! If I finish in time, it's a secret Santa gift for my sister-in-law, and is based on a photo of her dog.
Any tips on how to get that pencil lead out? Erasing only got me so far... Who knew you can't believe everything you see on YouTube?

Day 10 has been finished. I have no idea what other words will appear on this pattern. Now its breakfast time before part 11, I am definitely stitching that this morning, before I settle down to play games all day.
Day 9 done on the morning of day 10, oops. I'm having to stitch when my body allows, yesterday was a problem hand day. I'm now at the stage where photos have to be close up or lots of cropping so I can hide the final image from you.
Just winging the design but hope to finish before the Christmas special
How would one proceed to make small photo frames for small cross stitch art pieces?
Clay, popsicle sticks, or something else.
My partner has made a quite a few and I would love to display them in our home one day. (:
Day 8, a nice simple bauble. There are a few missing individual stitches, but I think I am going to put beads there instead - as soon as I decide which ones I want to use.
Day 7 done (yeah yeah, I'm late again, but in my defence I was on an adventure yesterday).
I love this bauble, its so simple, but stunning all the same.
There’s a delivery delay for the aida cloth I ordered, so instead of stitching, I’m still on my phone, favoriting patterns
All I really wanted was something to do besides doom scrolling and instead the project I initially wanted to make has changed about 1000 times and I’m starting to freak out about the thing I wanted to do so I wouldn’t freak out
I have a finish! I was really worried about getting the beads right, but I think it turned out really nice.

I decided that I need to add some sparkle to the Advent SAL, so I thought I might add some beads. Obviously this meant I had to find some beads....2 hours of searching and I come across this stash.
I have questions.
Why do I have so many mini project packs of beads? (they are all unopened).
When did I get these beads?
Where did they come from?
Which ones to use to add some sparkle to the Advent SAL?
Finding these has been like an early Christmas present
Another day ticked off, day 5 of the SAL. This is a great way to get a little bit of stitchy time every day.
Hurrah, managed day 4 on the right day. Really glad this was a simple one since I'm sore and cold again.
The sky's mood shifted from a somber grey to vibrant hues, and the cats, snug under their umbrella, felt the warmth of the changing canvas on their whiskered faces.

Delighted by the (sadly not alt-text-ed) cross stitch going around that says, "Save the bees, plant more trees, clean the seas, punch Nazis," I went looking on Etsy and found a pattern for it at Helen's Crossing:
