I tend to set up something or other every once in a while, which gives me such independence you speak of. Lately, it's been the "radicale" CalDAV calendar server.

Interested to hear Dr Taiuru and the Microsoft rep discussing how moving Family Court data to the Microsoft cloud is acceptable... RNZ's Ninetonoon just after 9. (hint: it's not, ever. There's a nonprofit whose website I support that monitors the far right. They want to set up a mirror site in Iceland (or other country with strong data sovereignty laws) in case the Trump administration takes down their website.

Yes, enabling for #DataSovereignty. But, also some properties of #Fediverse imply others can do with (their copies of) the data what they want, too; which is in tension with that sovereignty.
