I guess my #FreeBSD server might be about to die 😱

This morning, after noticing there was no network, I took my notebook to the basement to have a serial console and found it completely #dead, also no HDD activity whatsoever. I tried hitting reset, and from the lights I could tell the machine was restarting indeed, but again no HDD activity and the console remained dead. It's a board supporting serial console even for BIOS, so you should always see something ... What finally helped was disconnecting the main #power for a few seconds, after that, the bootup started normally.

I left after entering my GELI passphrase because I was in a hurry, but noticed the network didn't come back 😖. Invetigating 20 minutes later (when I was back home), I found the machine was again hung in the same way, but this time it completed bootup after disconnecting power and now it seems to work perfectly normally. Of course there's nothing in /var/log/messages, and dmesg was cleared by pulling the power plug. 🫤

Question: Could you imagine any software reason for an effect like that? I fear there's some hardware issue ...
