“She is a highly partisan person, and a strong supporter of DEI, which is totally inappropriate for her position.”

I know there's a lot of things going on but institutions like libraries and museums are fundamental to preserve history and culture from erasure.

"We should all be alarmed by this development. PRM, the Bureau of Population, Refugees, & Migration has an important function of stabilizing refugee populations around the world. Now it will host an office designed to actively REDUCE DIVERSITY in the United States."

Trump's anti-DEI attacks on the queer community are negatively affecting Pride sponsors in Canada. "Pride Toronto says it unexpectedly lost two more sponsors — Home Depot and Google- just weeks before Pride festivities are set to kick off in late June. The nonprofit behind the massive 2SLGBTQ+ festival, which attracts millions of people to the city every year, also said pharmaceutical giant Merck recently reduced its support. #pride #toronto #dei #queer #antidei #trump thestar.com/business/pride-tor

@neurodivergence @actuallyautistic The same principle applies to diversity of life experiences, not just neurotypes. That person of another gender, race, orientation, religion, etc. will understand things differently from you, and that variation in perspective is a source of tremendous advantage if you are willing to use it. Don't be a fool and pass that opportunity up.

DEI doesn't just benefit employees belonging to marginalized groups. It helps the bottom line. By trashing DEI initiatives, companies are shooting themselves in the foot. You can do the right thing and *benefit* from it!

"According to Deloitte and others, neurodiverse teams bring 2.5 times the cash flow per employee, 28% higher revenue, 30% greater profit margins, and about double the net income compared to their competitors."

This is a useful figure: "over 70% of DEI hires are white women". It's important to realize that when these people say that "most people got jobs because of their skin color or gender who were unqualified", they primarily mean that women are not qualified to work. That half the population is unqualified to leave the servitude of home because they're women. (Note: I've also heard this argument used against women receiving scholarships for education because of DEI.)

They make it clear in their arguments that they are including women but focus mostly on "skin color" because it's more acceptable to call their racism a legitimate critique of "culture" (or as the Conservatives in Canada would say, "Barbaric Cultural Practices"), than it is to say "women belong in the kitchen".

(ie, like in the example above, when he says that non-whites have no work ethics because off their "culture". He talked about gender too, but made his point with racism.)

Racism/xenophobia, misogyny, and homo/transphobia always work hand-in-hand, each covering for the other.

As expected from LinkedIn, lol!

Edit: added more comments, including this doozy: "Only white people have strong ethics. It's not racism. It's facts."

Any ethics experts want to chime in here? Ethics, that's just a white thing? The morally superior race?
