I just had to turn off #FoxnewSunday.

#Bondi is insisting the man who was #deported that isn't a gang member and "must be returned by midnight tomorrow" IS in fact an #MS13 gang member, and "just b/c he was studying to be an electrician doesn't wipe clean his past record."

#JFC! We have an #AG that DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THE #CONSTITUTION! YOU CAN NOT SIMPLY DECLARE A PERSON GUILTY & #DEPORT THEM w/o benefit of #DUEPROCESS! You don't even have to be a citizen. If you're on U.S. soil, you get DP! 🤬

"The head of the nation’s leading organization fighting #antisemitism questioned the #Trump administration’s aggressive effort to find and deport foreign students who have protested on behalf of #Palestinians, suggesting that the administration is betraying #American values, denying due process and punishing people for their views rather than their actions.

In pulling #student #visas and seeking to #deport #protesters who hold #greencards, the administration has failed to ensure due process that is central to America’s justice system, wrote Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive and national director of the #AntiDefamationLeague [#ADL]."

The Washington Post · Leading Jewish group condemns deportations of pro-Palestinian protestersBy Laura Meckler

"So we have a contradiction. We basically have the #Constitution that says everyone, persons in the #UnitedStates have due process rights, have the #BillofRights on their side, but we also have law that has been in power for 200 years saying, oh, well, except for when the president wants to #deport people. So these are in conflict. There will have to be some decision making."

#Trump is seeking to #deport another #academic who is legally in the country

Badar Khan Suri, a fellow at #Georgetown, says he is being punished because of the suspected views of his wife, a US #citizen w/ #Palestinian heritage.
Hooded #ICE agents snatched the India-born Georgetown postdoc #BadarSuri from Rosslyn street Mon, per the court filing. Like #MahmoudKhalil, Suri was subject to #MarcoRubio’s 'foreign policy' power, atty says.

I feel like throwing an eraser at these sleeping #influencers like one of my professors did at #HowardU BITD. Hello? Have you been paying attention? The current #fascist #lawless regime is, whelp, #lawless. They are busy #deporting #legalimmigrants & threatening to #deport #citizens. They have illegally fired #civilservants. Why would they, on god's green earth, be constrained by #international #treaties and #IARU agreements or listen to suggestions from #hams?

#Trump deported >200 supposed members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan prison gang, to El Salvador this weekend, multiple members of the Trump admin said on social media on Sunday.

It was not immediately clear if the #deportations happened before or after a federal judge in DC on Sat issued an emergency order that told the admin to stop using wartime powers to #deport anyone, & turn around any planes already in the air.

As early as Friday, President Donald Trump is expected to invoke the #AlienEnemiesAct -- a wartime law that allows the president to detain or #deport the natives and #citizens of an enemy nation -- as part of the efforts to carry out mass deportations, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
The Department of Defense is not expected to have a role in the invoking of the authority, which could be used to deport some migrants without a hearing.

The broader internment of Japanese-Americans was carried out under executive orders signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and not the Alien Enemies Act since the law does not apply to U.S. citizens.Copyright © 2025, ABC Audio. All rights reserved.

#DHS Secy #KristiNoem [& dog serial killer], who announced the plan Tues, argued that the #Trump admin should know who is here illegally so that it can #deport them or give them the chance to leave voluntarily. She has warned immigrants in recent days that they “will be #hunted down & deported” if they fail to register & has cited a provision of the 1952 Immigration & Nationality Act as justification for the requirement.

…Even w/ #Trump’s early #ExecutiveOrders, his admin has to contend w/overwhelmed #immigration courts where #asylum cases can take years. Trump expanded a fast-track #deportation process known as expedited removal, but it only applies to those in the US for 2yrs or less & gives migrants the ability to claim asylum.

The #AlienEnemiesAct could allow Trump to rapidly #deport migrants deemed part of an "invasion or predatory incursion"-a novel use of a #law previously only invoked in #wartime.
