In today's #Introduction #Introductions #Connections #TwitterMigration post, where I curate interesting accounts for you to follow on the #Fediverse , I'd like you to meet:
Professor @KathAlbury is a #researcher #academic at #Swinburne, part of @adms (full disclosure: I @admin the server that the ADMS account is on). Her ADMS projects focus on the development of data capability and capacity in #NFP organisations, and data #ethics and speculative #DesignJustice in the field of #SexTech. If you're into #DesignJustice,
you may also like the work of @schock.
@blasbenito is a #DataScience and #AgTch #GIS #researcher and #PhD in computational #ecology
@KristinaRiemer is also a #DataScience educator and communit builder @cct_datascience at #UArizona
@simonoid is a #melbourne / #Naarm #nerd and #gamer
Dr @amykmcl is a #facilitator, #researcher and #ethnographer in #medical #anthropology
That's all for today, please do share your own lists so we can more closely connect the #Fediverse
Finished reading and so so love this #book!
As leader in global open community, it provides great insights about policies/guidelines that hopes to cover global/universal practices and accessibilities…
“Recognize, respect and specify differences”
“#designjustice values insights that are developed through open dialogue, empathy and the live experience from communities that will be most affected by the designed object or system”
First book this year is #designjustice by @schock, loving every minute and words! #book #community
OK, so got an online design jam coming up 16th-18th November, exploring intersection of design justice, community centred/civic service design and GLAM data.
Sound interesting? Know people who'd be interested?

@mhayesgolding @edutooters For designing learning in a classroom (aka, #teaching), say a college-level math course, there is the MAA Instructional Practices Guide:
https://maa.org/programs-and-communities/curriculum%20resources/instructional-practices-guide
For #PhysicsEd, the Physport site: https://www.physport.org/
Metaphors & principles are useful for #LearningDesign, like "If Math Is The Aspirin, Then How Do You Create The Headache?"https://danmeyer.substack.com/p/if-math-is-the-aspirin-then-how-do
Some newer stuff: affective context model https://youtu.be/9lR1Fwqt0G8?feature=shared & #DesignJustice https://er.educause.edu/articles/2020/10/inclusive-design-and-design-justice-strategies-to-shape-our-classes-and-communities
So we are taking a data #feminist and #DesignJustice lens to developing Curbcut Toronto further, and we wrote about that for #Limits this year. https://limits.pubpub.org/pub/iw8v1y2m/release/1
@SuSchaffler
So importantAND that part of this question needs to include a deep questioning about how we see and understand differences. (Jonathan Crary Techniques of the Observer; Kittler’s Gramophone, Daston + Galison’s Objectivity) & why #DesignJustice principals rock in my mind:
¡Mil gracias!
The FTC is going after Amazon for its deceptive and coercive tactics getting people signed up for Amazon Prime and making it ridiculously difficult to leave.
Come join me in a new team in Oldenburg to research on critical digital education / critical edtech!
I'd like to connect with people interested in theory and/or generative #critique, and/or #speculating and/or #designjustice and/or practical projects for building a better world...
Openings for postdocs, predoc, media educator and (short-term) project coordinator. Overview here (in German, scroll down for English)

A UX #designjustice nightmare with extremely high stakes for asylum-seekers is unfolding on the border as the restrictions of Title 42 are replaced with the unforgiving code of CBP One, a smartphone app for making point of entry interview appointments that fails to include some migrants' languages, assigns appointments to individuals instead of families, and requires live photos while failing to recognize the facial features of those with darker skin.

This book by @danmcquillan:
Yes, Superrr's Feminist Digital Policy is now also online in English!
Delighted to have my abstract for a short talk accepted for #HASTAC2023 #CriticalMaking and #SocialJustice
My talk focuses on the centrality of #storytelling to both uncovering marginalised histories and reimagining intersectional feminist futures.
The talk draws from interviews conducted with digital practitioners as part of @FullStackFeminism.
