Rumba, but not the Cuban one, the transatlantic one from #DRCongo: Franco & Le T.P.O.K. Jazz live in Utrecht 1987. The band OK Jazz, later le Tout Puissant OK Jazz, formed in Léopoldville (now Kinshasa) in 1956. At one point consisting of more than 50 members, the group would split; half playing in Kinshasa, the others touring #Africa and beyond. During the 80s competing bands could not keep up with their output of on average 4 albums a year.

We speak to Dr Alex Vines, head of the Africa Programme at Chatham House, about the M23 offensive in eastern #DRCongo . He says that the ambitions of the Rwanda-backed #M23 differ now from their aims back in 2012, when they first set their sights on Goma, and one of the group's objectives now is to overthrow the Kinshasa administration, it has been making alliances with other armed groups and some of them may be considering separation from the DRC.

I hope that DR Congo are able to get people vaccinated against #mpox before the vast numbers of American evangelical groups who are all across Africa, come over and tell everyone 'you only get this if you're gay', and will be 'made infertile' and 'part of population control' if you take this - things that are also pushed and promoted widely on a certain website.

And just to believe in the path of the Good Lord instead.
